Questions & Answers

sahil s : Just wanted to check if this will fit Canon 7d?KELLEY G : As long as you buy the one that's made for canon it will fit.THEREASA V : Yes it does.
SYLVIANE R : Hi, will this work on Canon EF-S bodies like the 60D and the 40D? ThanksJOHN W : Yes, it works with ef-s bodies. Your effective focal length will be longer than advertised though, because of the crop factor on your sensor. So effectively your 50 mm lensbaby will be about an 80 mm lens. Works fine though.THEREASA V : It worked on my 50d.
Shopper : Is the composer pro with the double glass optic compatible with canon DSLR? Meaning the canon t3?MEAGAN G : I own a T3i, and it is fully compatible.MATTHEW L : Hi! Adorama asked me to help with direct experience. I'd be glad to. I have been using a Lensbaby for more than a year now. I had a Canon 40D, and now have a Canon Rebel (a T4i, but no matter) and there is no compatibility problem at all. Because there is no electronic linkage in the Lensbaby, you have to rely on your manual skills, but that is not a compatibility issue. The lens mount fits just fine. Because the double glass optic uses a little metal washer to size the aperture, when you look through the lens, you see the effect of the aperture, and the camera's light meter sees exactly how much light there is. If you use the M mode, the finger wheel will change the shutter speed and allow you to see the effect on the exposure meter. If you use the Av mode, the finger wheel won't do anything by itself. But if you press the Av button while using the finger wheel to set the exposure at medium or plus or minus, as you choose, then it will pick a shutter speed for you, and will change with changing conditions. The Tv mode doesn't do anything at all because it can't control the aperture electronically. If you are using a very small aperture, there are two problems: First, it's very hard to see through the view finder--there isn't much light getting in! Second, a very small aperture reduces the blur created by the Lensbaby, defeating the purpose of using it in the first place. Thus the two problems cancel each other out. Just shoot with the bigger rings and you'll have no problem. Also, there is no autofocus. That might not seem like a problem, but I was surprised to discover how dependent I had become on it. You have to take your time focusing. Make sure the view finder adjustment is set accurately for you, because you are depending on your own eye sight alone to determine focus. I don't use it all the time, but I do use it a lot, and I love the fact that the effects are created optically rather than by computer. Have fun with it!ANDREW R : This model is compatible with Canon EOS system film and digital SLRs (EF mount).

Fun and Sharp

I love this lens! It adds some fun to my "snapshots" and inspires me to step out of my comfort zone a bit. Highly recommend, the photos are beautiful with this lens! It's manual focus, so there is a learning curve.

A fun gadget.

I bought this lensbaby lens for close ups of flowers. It is something that will take practice, lots of it, to master this little gem. So far it is fun, however, I have deleted a lot of photos. I will keep practicing until I master it.

Lots of Fun

A terrific creative tool. The manual focus takes a little getting used to but only if you've been using only AF stuff for years. The macro kit is a great addition as is the optional case (not to sound too much like a lensbaby sales rep but the supplied pouch can be a bit of a pain at times). I found I get the best results from the f4 or the f5.6 discs, of course that's just personal preference.
