KAREN H : I have a Sony a100. Will this work on my camera?BRADY O : Hi. You will want to check your camera menu. You should have an option to "Release w/o Lens". If you do, you will want to enable this. Switch your cam to MF. You can then either shoot in full manual mode or you can shoot in aperture or shutter priority. Keep in mind you will see a view with Live View but it won't necessary be the photo you're taking because the Sony won't recognize the lens and YOU do the focusing. It takes some getting used to but it's worth it. :)

Good, with learning curve

Purchased this for the wife and her Nikon dslr. Was surprised by how much she had to change on the camera - I think all of the settings. It's a good product, but be aware it's not "plug and play." She IS getting used to it, and learning her camera in the process. I would recommend it, though.

Just Okay

I found it hard to hold camera and focus at the same time to get the results I was looking for.

Would buy again

Like the product but having a hard time getting used to it. I'm sure with more practice it will get easier.

Love my Lensbaby

I first started out with a Lensbaby Composer and loved it. It is great for still shots or any shots where you will be taking time to get the details just right. It holds it's focus/sweet spot while you tweak settings or adjust a tripod. I found that when I was in situations where there was action to capture I was having limited success because I have a slow reaction time. I tried the Muse and it suits my abilities best when my subject is moving. Very simple - squeeze to focus. By having just one action I needed to take I was able to increase my reaction time. I like the Muse for shooting concerts, receptions, and sports. I love my Muse most of all for travel photography, where my subject may be still but I'm trying to move along quickly to see all that I can see while I'm in a new country. I prefer my Composer for portraits and macro but the Muse works best for me when I need to shoot spontaneously. As far as optic go, I have several and find myself using the double glass 98% of the time.

What a fun lens!

When the lensbaby was first introduced I was skeptical. I loved the effects that could be achieved yet feared the construction. After all changing an aperture disc can sound like a scary thing. Having rounded out my basic lens collection I decided it was time to take a chance and get a fun lens and this baby hasn't let me down! Changing the aperture couldn't be easier with the tool included with the lens. The magnet grabs the disc and lifts it out then you simply drop in a new one. Focusing at first, was quite the challenge but after an hour or so of playing around it became second nature and easy to achieve the look I wanted. It will never be a primary lens on my camera but it will be one I pop on at every shoot for a few shots at least. If you've met your needs with basic lenses then you can't go wrong with this inexpensive, fun lens that will spark your creativity.

Sure, the Muse looks and acts like the Original Lensbaby. But, like the Composerand the Control Freak, this little baby comes with Lensbaby's new Optic Swap system-offering artists an almost unlimited variety of looks and styles to capture their unique visions.

All Lensbaby lenses bring one area of a photo into sharpest focus with that Sweet Spot surrounded by gradually increasing blur. Photographers focus the Muse by compressing the lens and move the sweet spot by bending the flexible lens tubing.

The Double Glass optic has a tack sharp sweet spot with minimal diffusion at all aperture settings.
