Leica D-Lux7 is a technological feat. There is a learning curve and at a week I've a long way to go. It is small and light, the lens excursion is more than I expected and it's quick to shoot. Having the aspect ratio readily available in shooting mode is great. Leica FOTO software has changed the way I'm shooting. Establishing a Bluetooth connection with an iphone and iPad was easy enough and taking and looking at hi res images on a bigger screen while still shooting is very useful. I'm hoping that the D-Lux will replace a camera bag full of glass

I'd give this camera 5 stars for performance, quality, and features. It's a great travel camera that's light and easy to carry around, and image quality is very good. I'm taking one star off though because the wi-fi/bluetooth connection to my phone is buggy and/or unstable to the point of being useless. I'm taking another star off due to the poor customer support. I asked them about the above problem 2-3 weeks ago and there has been no real response. Despite the otherwise excellent camera, I'm a bit disillusioned with the brand. This was my first Leica and my expectations were high. I didn't expect that a company with Leica's reputation would have such issues. I'm also very surprised at the cost of Leica branded accessories. You can expect to pay 5-10 times what the competition is charging for equivalent items like straps or lens caps, without any quality differential. For these reasons I don't believe that the camera is good value for the money.

Yes I recommend this camera. The Leica D-Lux 7 is a very nice camera with a beautifully performing lens. I shoot mostly film, I?m not a digital guy so the learning curve on learning to navigate the menu was insane, but I finally did get it. This is the same for all the feature packed digital cameras. Once you set things to your liking it gets easier. I often use this camera as my Polaroid to test my light set up. I put a pocket wizard on the hot shoe and check the set up before switching to one of my film cameras. It?s small enough to carry around but the chunky lens takes some of that convenience away compared to the film days when small compact 35mm cameras like Leica?s Minilux would retract the lens completely into the body when turned off. So not a full frame but by no means a small sensor camera the images are very good. It?s not an inexpensive camera but at the same time a fraction of the cost of full frame digitals. Overall I feel it is a good investment for such a nice camera.

This is my first introduction into Leica. This point and shoot camera is versatile and incredibly easy to use. The camera made me look like I had been in the business for many years. I have been having a blast taking pictures. It?s nostalgic look is gorgeous. I am a happy customer

It simply is the best point and shoot camera in the market. Leica is an amazing brand. You won't be dissapointed.

I had one and ended up trading up to a CL. The D-Lux 7 is nice and has a ton of features, most of which I never used. Very easy to carry around. Quality build. Images are decent for this style of camera but it does have it's drawbacks. It needs almost perfect light to get the most out of it. Even in perfect light the images can be a little noisy. Shooting in lower light will show more noise and the image quality suffers a little. Lens is also prone to flare. I liked the camera for the most part, but upgraded to the CL to be able to use different lenses and get a better quality image. For the price, the D-Lux 7 is a nice camera if you can live with its shortcomings.

It's a Leica – quality look, feel and performance. Put the D850 with 24-70 away and now just carry this everyday and for travel.

I purchased my first Leica D Lux 7 back in March when I went to Adorama to buy a lens and an Olympus OMD E 5 MIII. I fell in love with it immediately. I finally understood why people love Leica. The imaging is amazing and it's focus is insanely fast. It's light, and beautifully built. A few months later, I purchased one for my daughter. I purchased a used Leica film lens for my Olympus Pen F and I'm now saving for a Leica CL. Once you shoot Leica, the obsession begins. Start your Leica journey here.

Extraordinary quality! Although a little confusing to navigate the nuanced menu-the images are beautifully rendered.

This is just what I've been looking for. I've been a shooter of many brands, but I have always been drawn to the incredible tonal range of black and white images from a Leica camera. This camera delivers the quality image I was expecting and it's fun to use. I am very pleased with the low light image quality as well. This camera will be great for jazz clubs, restaurants, and indoor venues. This will be my go-to everyday camera for streetscapes, casual portraits, and street photography as well. The skin tones rendering on color images is also impressive. I highly recommend this camera.

Iowned an earlier model of D-Lux camera and decided to upgrade to the D-Lux 7. What a great move. The camera is beaufiul and I ordered a leather case to maintain the camera. I am excited to get to know it more and utilize it.

The camera is aesthetically pleasing, works smoothly, and produces amazing photos. The downside is not the camera, but Leica Fotos app. It is difficult to connect to.

First, let me say that under normal circumstances I would not do what I did; I also understand that none of my photographer colleagues would do what I did...so here goes: I read numerous reviews of various Leica cameras in which the owners raved about the "Leica look". I then decided to take a chance and ordered the D-Lux 7. When I took the first few photos of my wife, the revelation hit. I took it on a paid shoot, and the images were unlike anything I had seen before. I came home and took a serious look at my Sony A7RII, and with mixed feelings (because I loved that camera) I boxed it up, along with my 85mm G Master lens and my 55mm Sony Zeiss and sold them. And so far, absolutely NO REGRETS!! The D-Lux's image quality places it in another realm among much more expensive competitors. Skin tones were accurate to a fault, and my post processing has been cut to a minimum. But dont worry...I haven't lost ALL of my marbles!! I still have my Canon 5D Mk II and supporting glass for the big events (weddings, family reunions), but for portraits and minor events, the D-Lux is a killer!

I purchased the D-LUX 7 to take with me on the road/travelling as a personal camera. I am a full time photographer mainly in the wedding/corporate world but love landscape photography. So was curious to see how I would like the RAW files/overall feel of this camera coming from working with Nikon D850/Canon Mark IV RAW files. So far I have really been digging having this little guy. Recently was on a trip in CO, WY, and the black hills of SD and didn't miss having a chunky DSLR + lenses with me at all. Pleasantly surprised with dynamic range in the files, specifically shadow recovery. Can be a bit noisy but for the purpose of digitally posting files it's totally fine. Colors are nice and easy to work with in Lightroom, touch screen EVF works well, and it's a fully silent camera. Once you get used to it, its a blast to turn on and shoot. I haven't tried the 4k burst modes and other stuff light that, but I'm sure they are implemented well. Don't expect A7 iii/D850/Mark IV type files, but at 17mp and the ability to go down to f/1.7 at 24mm it's a nice, fun, versatile point and shoot to throw in your backpack and do whatever the heck you want with it.

This is the perfect camera when I don’t want the weight of my DSLR. The images are awesome and the manual knobs make it fun to shoot creatively.

I have several cameras, and this one can substitute them all. I bought the additional grip, which changes completely the feel of the camera. Yes, you can argue that the LX100 II is less money, but the Leica is a piece of art, plus much better resell value. VERY HAPPY WITH IT.
