A beautiful camera inside out! I have owned and used a Rollei 35 for couple of years and it made me fall in love with the film photography. So I decided to give Leica a try. My first one was M3 but photos came either under- or over-exposed roll after roll. I tried three (!) external light meters, including those by Leica ? and it still did not yield the results I was looking for. It just did not feel right for me. So I sold it and almost decided to keep shooting with Rollei when the backordered MP was delivered (I waited for 5+ months since placing the order). I fell in love with the camera from first sight and first film load. The craftsmanship is superb, the appearance is beautiful, the camera looks and feels like a lifelong companion ? it is such a pleasure to hold it and shoot with it. The light meter is a best addition to the otherwise all-manual camera. The first roll came in just as expected and so the MP is a keeper! Of course, it is still just a tool ? but the top notch one.

I went through a few film cameras before I bought this one. Save yourself some time and money, if you want a film camera this is the best you can get in 2021. Love it so far!

I've been buying Moment products for some years now. They make sine quality gear, lenses, cases, bags- everything you need. When I learned they had a Leica MP in stock, checked out almost immediately. The MP is a thing of beauty. I've already put a few rolls through it, I'll be developing in a week or so.

Highly recommended. Extremely well made. Some people are complaining of the partially plastic ISO dial. I guess my question would be: Has your’s broken? I would not know that it was plastic if I had not been told. Much ado about nothing!

The MP is exactly what I wanted. After many years using various rangefinders both film and digital I decided to move up to my dream rangefinder. It is a manual camera with a built in meter. Very much old school in operation and quality. It is the antithesis of digital spray and pray. For those who are looking to return to film shooting, this or one of the other Leica film cameras MA or M7 would be your top choice. It is a real joy to use, smooth, solid, compact and quiet and unobtrusive.

Built solid, can operate without batteries. Battery only powers meter. Easy to use, I've had no problems with mine out of the box.

I found my self owning many DSLR cameras that worked wonderfully. My last one was a Canon 5Dm3 and it was outstanding but I found myself shooting in P mode and being lazy. My photos had become snapshots like a glorified Iphone. I had lost my creativity that takes thinking to do.. I went for a manual camera and now my photos are almost back to where they were... creativity in the scene.

The Leica MP is much, much more a camera than the modern digi's! The looks, the feeling in your hand, the operation and the actual use of this MP are simply unique and unbeaten by any other camera

The big advantage of this camera is that it works without a battery, which is used for the meter only. It is also the most beautiful 35mm camera I have ever seen.

The camera is well built to serve "slow" photography. One should take the time to visualize the final picture, to frame, to check and set the right parameters for exposure and for focus... and capture... The controls are simple, easy and intuitive. The built quality seems to be superb. The real (vs. Marketing) sense of this camera is of a great and lasting tool and I hope it will last as my 60 years old fully functional Leica III. It is only a tool. If it inspires you? go ahead, that's a bonus. But please remember, buy it as a great tool. A camera cannot create an art nor capture the right picture, it leaves the creation work for us to do.

My father bought a new M-3 in 1959, which I was allowed to use. I took it to the Middle East for an overseas college study trip in 1968. It performed flawlessly. After my father died, I got the M-3. I bought an M-6 in 1996. When I read about the new MP when it came out, I knew I had to have ne. It has not disappointed me in the least. I now have the M-03, the M-6 and the MP. I wouldn't want to give any of them up for any reason. I am now thinking about the M-8!
