Because of my work, I look through different rifle scopes on a weekly basis and I can't say I have ever seen a brighter or clearer scope than this one. Its light for it's size and rugged. To my mind it's one of the best choices for Western Hunting. I own a few of these and plan to buy more next time Leupold does a run of them. When I show someone a rifle with one of these mounted on it, most people are amazed at the clarity. Try it outdoors and you will see.

I like the idea of simplicity on my hunting scope, no dials to fiddle with. Just know my trajectory and send it. In my opinion this 6x is great to 350 yards with small whitetails and as close as 50 yards. One of the reason I wanted a fixed power is for what I thought would be superior clarity and light transmission for sunrise sunset hunting, I was wrong.... I own many scopes about 5 leupolds. One evening I sat on my porch comparing my 3-9x40 vx2 and this fixed power as the sun went down. I noticed absolutely no difference in clairity, contrast and shadow details in low light. They both were dead even. I thought for sure the fixed fx6, with it's simpler construction would be better at around the same price. So my advice is that I you think you will get more hunting time in low light or better glass you won't. But you will most likely get a more durable scope with less parts to go wrong and a faster handing rifle.

Amazing clarity. The perfect optic for deer and hog in Texas. Very effective out to 300 yards. Tough also a plus .

This scope is perfect for almost every big game scenario you can think of. I would have rated it 5/5 except for a 0.070" tool mark in the finish on the bell. That being said I cannot recommend any other optics manufacturer. Great product.

I bought my Leupold 6 powered scope over 20 years ago. It's never failed me. It's truly amazing for low light situations. I've taken a number of animals at over 250 yards with it.
