It is the Lectrosonics 400 Series UCR411A Compact Digital Hybrid Wireless Receiver, designed to deliver professional-grade performance in a compact form factor, making it ideal for field and location production. This receiver, operating within Block 21 (537.600-563.100MHz), offers a wide frequency response of 32Hz-20kHz, ensuring high-quality audio capture. The front panel features a powerful LCD interface, allowing for intuitive control and setup, making it perfect for integration into portable bag systems, sound carts, and rack mount multi-couplers.
One of the standout features of the UCR411A is its built-in RF spectrum analyzer, which helps mitigate interference issues in crowded RF environments. The receiver's 25.6 MHz tuning range is complemented by an RF activity recorder with markers displayed on the LCD screen, simplifying the process of finding clear operating frequencies. The robust mechanical design, featuring a machined aluminum housing with electrostatic powder-coated and anodized finishes, ensures durability in demanding production settings.
The UCR411A supports DSP Compatibility Modes, allowing it to operate seamlessly with both Lectrosonics hybrid transmitters and companded analog transmitters from Lectrosonics and other manufacturers. This flexibility provides backward compatibility, offering an economical upgrade path for existing users. The receiver's Frequency Tracking Front-End Filters utilize four transmission line resonators with variable capacitance, providing tunable, narrow filtering that enhances operating range even in congested RF environments.
Analog RF Links are employed to maximize efficiency, offering long battery life, excellent range, and the ability to operate multiple systems in close proximity without interference. The DSP-Based Pilot Tone system uses a DSP-generated ultrasonic pilot tone to control audio muting, eliminating unwanted transients and ensuring reliable operation in multichannel systems.
SmartDiversity technology, with microprocessor-controlled antenna phase combining, effectively manages multi-path dropouts, maintaining optimal reception. The SmartNR algorithm offers three selectable noise reduction modes, enhancing audio clarity by attenuating electronic hiss without affecting desired high-frequency signals.
High Current, Low Noise Amplifiers in the front end provide low noise RF amplification, excellent sensitivity, and resistance to intermodulation, ensuring robust performance. The Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Filter in the first IF section offers sharp filtering and temperature stability, while the Digital Pulse Counting Detector demodulates FM signals with precision, eliminating thermal drift and enhancing AM rejection.
The backlit LCD graphics display provides a comprehensive overview of audio and RF signal status, battery levels, and setup functions. The SmartSquelch system dynamically adjusts squelching behavior to maintain audio quality, even under challenging conditions. The receiver's housing is designed for durability, with features like a rotating battery door and protection against reverse polarity, ensuring reliable operation in the field.
