Unpredictable

I plugged this device into my HP Paviliion when I moved to a place that did not have ethernet access. My wireless enabled laptop works fine with the Verizon DSL service provided through a Westell network. The Cisco-Valet works, but it is much slower and unpredictable. After a while, the connection drops and the adapter gets very hot. I've had it for four days and that's long enough.
