Very well rounded 4K monitor for general use.

I have owned/used this monitor for 4 years and it?s been excellent for its price if a good deal can be found on one. Don?t buy this if you need/want HDR good ergonomics, deep blacks, high refresh rate, or a wide colour gamut such as full P3 or full Adobe RGB colour gamut. Colours appear quite vibrant while retaining detail very well compared to other similar displays I have used. Despite its mediocre contrast ratio, its able to retain dark surprisingly well. The display has some noticeable backlight bleed and some yellow glow which is completely normal, but it hasn?t gotten worse over the years of owning it. There is little jaggedness in lower resolution content. It has decent brightness for indoor use 4K console games look great on this display. Multitasking and doing word, excel, PowerPoint on this display has been good due to the higher resolution and low jaggedness. Video watching is slight weakness for the display due to its mediocre contrast, but the things the monitor does well helps make up for it.

Very detailed monitor

The 4 k videos that I play on my monitor are so detailed. I have been playing video games on this monitor and there is no lag and super clear. I am running a mid-range video card. My son stopped over to do his taxes last minute and after he was done he was playing video games on my computer and even he said what a nice monitor. The raw pictures that I edit are so clear on this monitor. the stand is stronger and very straightforward, easy to adjust the height. I would buy this monitor again in a heart beat. Thanks Kevin

The jump from 1080p to 4k is astounding

Upgraded my two 1080p monitors to two of these 4k LG ones. It looks like someone put Vaseline over the screen on my old ones compared to how clear these new ones are. Also love the ultra thin frame around the screen, makes it really sleek looking. Worth the upgrade for sure!

Versilile Workhorse!

I bought this monitor a few months ago to support both my new M1 Mac Mini as I transitioned away from an all-in-one iMac, and just as importantly, to connect to my work laptop as my professional role became a work-from-home position. The 27UK650-W has exceeded my expectations. With multiple connections possible, I have USB-C connected to my Mac Mini, and HDMI connected to my work laptop, it's so easy to switch from my personal and work computers. As a graphic professional, color accuracy is paramount for my work, and I was concerned about going from a 5K iMac screen to this 4K screen, but I have been very satisfied with the color performance on the 27UK650-W.

Some trivialities spoil the mix

its a good monitor but I have a few 4k devices so I am not blown away anymore. But the reason I write this is to warn buyers of a gross shortcoming of this device made all the worse by its "triviality". Buyers could be alerted to it by 1 simple word inserted at a crucial point but since LG chose not to they were not ashamed enough to fix it. You judge when I tell you: They wrote the USB ports on the monitor act as a USB hub. What they should have wrote is: as a unpowered hub, which is pretty weak as even the cheapest TV/monitors provide at least power to their ports, but big LG? no small mind!

Jury still out

I've been using this monitor for about three months in my home office, and it has performed as expected. But recently I've gotten serious about writing a novel and spend much more time using the monitor. I think the radiation from the screen burnt my eyes!

Very nice monitor. I went from a 19 inch to this 28 inch and that is great. I hate the eraser type device to change settings. I wish it was on the screen and I could use my mouse to change settings.

Great features and capabilities so far

Needed a second monitor for WFH and was looking at the whole segment of 4k. This monitor does a lot of things well and at a remarkable value. First the picture is top notch. The monitor supports tilt, pivot and swivel functions in addition to variable height. The assortment of connections is astounding and most wiring is supported by cables in the box. The monitor has a rudimentary cable/wiring control . The monitor is VESA 100 capable but use of the recessed panel can be a problematic for some monitor arms . I have only had it a month but love it so far.

Great value monitor, but no HDR.

I wanted either 27" or 30" monitors. 4K and IPS was a requirement, HDR was a bonus. I got two of these and they're light (weight), got plenty of inputs, crisp clean display and a easy to use UI. I'm very annoyed that both the retailer I bought them from and LG is still advertising these as HDR10 capable when there's no evidence that they are. I can get HDr output from my desktop PC when I hooked it up to a HDR capable LG TV, so my system isn't the problem.

No HDR and horrible backlight bleed. Stay away.

Wanted to love this monitor but the description is false. This unit does not support any form of HDR and the backlight bleed is unacceptable.

Seeing red borders after the warranty period

The picture was and still looks good except that there are red borders after one year. Over the years, I had over 7 LG products (TVs and Monitors) and I have never had this problem. The red borders since appeared are growing and this is definitely not worth it given the high price

I think I got a dud

The display is sharp and colors look good and are pretty uniform, but limited resolutions with a 5 year old top of the line MacBook Pro with AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB and Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB graphics. The only sharp resolutions are 3840 x 2160 (which makes text too small) and 1920x1080 (best setting). I wish I could get 2560x1440. The other resolutions are too small and blurry. I can't get higher than 30 hertz refresh rate, though the specs say I should get 60Hz. The USB hub on the back doesn't work. I tried multiple keyboards, mice, flash drive. I hooked it up with the supplied HDMI cord. I tried disabling energy saver, so the graphic cards just uses the Radeon card instead of Intel. I tried another MacBook Pro and same problem. I tried the same laptops with an HP Z27 and I get more resolutions/better scaling options. Speaking of which, it looks like this LG got its design cues from the HP Z27. The design is pretty good, thin bezels, but materials look cheaper, and has a plasticy feel, (compared to the HP, which looks more elegant and modern). It’s a little weird that the base swivels also (like it’s it’s on a turntable), but I like that I can turn it, raise, and tilt. It bothers me that the power cord has a big brick in the middle of it, and the part of the cord to the monitor is not long enough for the brick to sit on the floor, so it has to hang suspended, or you have to put a big black brick on your desk. If they made that cord about 6-8’’ longer, it could hide on the floor. So that’s an annoying design flaw. I can’t speak about the motion graphics, or gaming. I haven’t played Fortnite or any graphics intensive games yet. LG tech support over email was prompt and they offered a few suggestions, but they didn't solve the problems. LG tech support over phone was not very helpful. I assume I got a defective model — mainly because the USB hub doesn’t work. I’ll return this one. I haven’t decided if I want to try the same model again or go with something else.

Poor experience for Mac users

Only supply 40W of power, so I still have to plug in to the charger. What's even the point of that? 40W isn't going to charge most modern laptops. Mounts its firmware as an image in finder which I then have to eject or the Mac thinks I'm removing media without ejecting. Why would I want a monitor to mount its firmware outside of an update, which should require special software to mount? Good looking display, would be great if connected via HDMI, but as a USB-C it leaves a lot to be desired,

Excellent Color and Sharpness

After calibration with the i1Profiler, the colors came to life and vindicated my choice of this monitor. I bought it for photo editing, so I was dubious about my choice when I saw the bluish cast and weak magenta rendered by the factory settings. It took two tries to get the monitor to recognize what the i1Profiler was trying to do, but once it did, the display was gorgeous. In the four months that I've had this monitor, I've had no problems. I should also mention that it's an excellent value.

Amazing monitor for video/photo editing and gaming

I love this monitor. Colors are accurate, backlight is even, no blotchiness. Height adjustment is great and menu control is easy to use. Use it with DaVinci Resolve and Lightroom, plus play a little Call of Duty on it. The only thing I wish this monitor had - USB connections, but that’s minor

Best Picture

First I purchased a Samsung with a picture so bad I had to return it. When I did I looked at ALL the floor models to see which had the best picture. The LG 27UK650-W has the best picture by far in it’s class. Yes it was more than the Samsung, but well worth it. I brought it home and have been patting myself on the back for choosing such an excellent minister.

Excellent, versatile monitor

It came on time and in good condition. It has better color space than I expected and it's especially vibrant compared to my other monitors. The refresh rate isn't too impressive, but for the price, this is an excellent all-use monitor.

Satisfying!!

I'm not sure if I have particular needs or not. And I don't know much about these things...but I do very detailed paintings making reference to travel photos that I've taken and the monitor like the on my imac (5k) is terrific for that when I pan in to make reference to specific details on a photo image. To make life easier I decided to get an additional monitor that I'd place in front of my drafting table so I would no longer have to get up while I'm painting and go over to my computer as needed for details (Yeah...I should have done this years ago!) So, I did a lot of inquiring about what kind of monitor would be best for my needs...primarily...not loosing detail when panning in on a photo...and I got all kinds of opinions. Rather than just being confused by them all I finally decided on this LG monitor. Well...it easily mirrors my imac's screen and this monitor is EXACTLY what I needed and does EXACTLY what I hoped it would.

Quick back story; I already own the LG 27UD68-W and it's great! I'm a tech guy and a huge gamer. I've always gamed on TV's. We own a bunch of 65" 4K OLED TV's and we have many displays but I finally converted to gaming on a monitor and I haven't looked back since! I did research for about 5-6 months prior to purchase. I'm a college student with a budget so I chose the the 4K 27UD68-W monitor. Not to mention.. it comes with AMD FreeSync. Like what a deal? So essentially to summarize it all. I ...

Hi. For a very low price this monitor offers about everything including a great looking image. DisplayPort and 2x HDMI are handy, both support 60Hz. I did use the (deep menus to tweak the image but now, it is impressive. The display is extremely matte, meaning it does not reflect light which is great to see correctly even in brightly lit environment, and it does not strain your eyes. So... also great for business and photography. For Photo editing, I noticed the blacks aren't as deep as the V...
