Engineered with very high input overload margins, the M8sPRE ensures a stress-free sound experience. Its outputs are characterized by very low impedance and high current, enabling it to drive virtually any power amplifier through any length of cable, whether balanced or single-ended. The technical specifications of the M8sPRE are a testament to its exceptional engineering, featuring ultra-low distortion, virtually perfect frequency response, and ultra-low noise levels. This pre-amplifier is designed to drive any power amplifier over any cable length, though it pairs perfectly with the M8s-700m monobloc amplifiers for an unparalleled auditory experience.
The M8sPRE's design and build quality are exceptional, starting with its truly fully balanced design. Unlike many competitors that claim similar features but are actually single-ended with balanced inputs and outputs, the M8sPRE is fully balanced throughout. Its pure Class A circuitry is implemented in subtle and refined configurations, ensuring high input overload margins. With high input impedance and low output impedance, the M8sPRE is easy to drive while capable of driving any power amplifier.
Delving into its input options, the M8sPRE features a low-noise MM/MC phono stage with very accurate RIAA equalization, low distortion, and a wide overload margin, making it an excellent partner for turntables. It also includes two fully balanced inputs, three line-level inputs, and a fully configured tape loop, providing flexibility for both traditional and modern sources. The home theatre bypass options on one set of both balanced and line-level inputs facilitate seamless integration into a combined music and movie system.
The M8sPRE's high-tech design translates into exceptional performance, scientifically measurable with minuscule distortion levels (less than 0.003%), extremely low noise (-117dBA), wide bandwidth (-3dB at 75kHz), and remarkable frequency response that is ruler-flat within the audio band. Stereo separation is impressive at 96dB at 1kHz. Additionally, the M8sPRE features an outstanding power supply, with each channel equipped with a 350VA silent-drive mains transformer. Each stage of each channel has its own regulation circuitry, optimizing performance and isolation while maximizing current delivery through the power supply's ultra-low impedance design.
