This is an inexpensive, small, TTL flash that works acceptably well for occasional use on M43. It does not have much in the way of controls, but is a reasonable choice for when you need to use a flash, but don't want to spend for a more professional quality unit. It is, however, pretty cheaply made. I dropped mine from my lap, and had to snap the plastic sides back together afterwards. It still works fine, but it's not the most rugged of items...but you know, you get what you pay for, and this was pretty cheap.

I have a Panasonic LX-100 and I wanted a more powerful flash. I didn't want one that was too large, given the size of the camera. I chose the Metz. To my disappointment, the flash did not work in TTL mode with my camera. I exchanged it for the Nissin i40, but that's another review.

I use this with a Panasonic g5 .I bought the g5 for travel. I also own a Sony a65,Sony 350 and use Metz flashes for both. I have found Metz to be all you can ask for in flashes. the Metz 24af-1 is small and portable, recycles fast, and ideal for the g5

This flash is a million times better than a built in flash. For the price you can't beat it.

The mecablitz 24 AF-1 Four thirds TTL digital is the perfect introduction to the Metz system flash unit range. Thanks to the compact, slim-line and lightweight design, it can be stashed easily in a jacket pocket and is the perfect addition to compact system cameras with flash shoe. Metz's smallest system flash unit with guide number 24m/79' for ISO 100/21deg. and 35 mm focal length provides flash novices with better illumination in their photos than can be created with the integrated camera flash. It also lets them employ creative lighting effects such as bouncing flash in the picture composition.
