Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is this display different than PA271W-BK?BRETT Z : Same display monitor minus the bundled NEC spectrum2 calibration software and dedicated calibration puck. If you already have an NEC monitor you have the software and the calibration puck, If not you can save money and gain utility by buying only the display add the stand alone NEC sotware and also buy the X-rite i1display package of calibration puck and software(often bundled with X-rite pantone color palette software and colorchecker software and targets. That way you save money and can calibrate your Camera as well as other monitors laptops and home theater screens. The NEC bundled puck only works on NEC monitors and software.THOMAS W : I believe it's the same. It's an awesome monitor. I ordered the Spectraview color calibrator and software (extra $286). There is a newer model the Pa272, which is 16:10 versus the 16:9 of the PA271. I believe the "BK" stands for "black". Insanely good monitor for color critical photo processing. At $859 it is a steal. The newer PA272 costs $1300. I would imagine the PA271 bk will be discontinued at some point now that the newer model is out.DAVID B : Hi Sorry to take so long to answer your question, but it is the same display. The difference is that the color calibration kit is not supplied with the monitor in the PA271W version, and Adorama has a real substantial price break on that one. I use a Spyder Pro on mine and it works very well!!ANDREW R : I'm afraid I don't understand your question. The manufacturer's number on this unit is PA271W-BK
Brian H : will this run as a monitor from my hp pavilion dv7?HOA D : It should if you have a DL (display port) port on your laptop.WALT F : Hi Brian, Adorama asked me to respond to your question. I have the monitor on a Dell XPS 8500 computer and it works great. I'm not familiar with your computer and not able to give you a direct answer, It is a great monitor and easy to calibrate. I have struggled with other monitors to get them calibrated so prints look as they do on the monitor. This one is right on.ELIF D : I see no resason why it can't I works with my Macbook Pro without issues

Chosen over Dell 27, Apple Thunderbolt

Love it for my photo editing, and also use it daily for my computer day-to-day job.

Great Monitor!

Fantastic monitor for professional imaging. Easy to calibrate with NEC's own calibration system. Reasonably priced and well worth the investment for any design professional!

Excellent Monitor

I had been using the Dell U2410. After the first one developed a large color differentiation it was replaced under warranty. The replacement however developed dark spots in the screen 7 months later becoming unusable. So far the NEC has been stellar. I've found that some of the images I had worked using the Dell had color shifts in them. All I can say is I'll never scimp on a monitor again. Lesson learned! The NEC PA271W holds accurate calibration and has made editing less of an eye strain for me. The Dell's had a grainy screen. The NEC is worlds cleaner making it easier to work on. The only thing I miss about the U2410 is the USB placement and SD card reader built in. Just buy the NEC! No regrets!

Great Monitor

I do a lot of photo editing and need a hi-res monitor. This one is ideal. Yes, it's more expensive than "standard" monitors, but if you need a hi-res monitor, this is ideal.
