Item meets expectations
I purchased the Netgear Nighthawk cable modem router which has been remarkably satisfying. So far, it has served very well. I initially had the Netgear N300 wireless router.

Great Modem Router
I bought this because I was tired of paying my ISP provider for renting theirs and not being able to use the USB port. I connected an external drive to have a mini network. Works great for streaming files and music to all my devices.
The modem setup was easy and straightforward. I really like the nighthawk app as well as the web interface. I feel confident that my network is secure and that I have the control to use everything the way I want to.

Functional out of box
I purchased this to replace my xfinity rental modem. It has exceeded expectations after being simple to set up. I am satisfied.

Required replacement
I received a notice that my Netgear Wi-Fi cable modem was no longer safe to use after three years so I disconnected it and purchased a new nighthawk and it's OK but I have noticed the Wi-Fi is much slower than my old Netgear 1750

Difficult set-up. Rude support.
Agent providing support was rude. Insisted I pay several hundred dollars just to register my device, and subscribe to automatic updates for the device. I returned my NETGEAR router/modem and bought an Arris. I'll never buy another NETGEAR device again.

Great router
I purchased this refurbished router to replace the one my internet provider was charging me for. I was hesitant to buy a refurbished product but all the reviews were great so I took a leap. It came quickly and the support team was very helpful when it came time for to to switch it out.
Works great and will pay for itself in a few months.

Bought his to replace an older model of another brand that continually gave me trouble. More than satisfied with reliability and easy to set up, not a bad price either. My son helped me set it up and now he has the same one.

Returned to Best Buy
I couldn't get logged in to the app. Tried to get hold of of support who was helpful, but the call got interrupted. By that time, I was so frustrated, I returned the device and got one from Xfinity which was so easy to install.

I had a Motorola combo router modem, which after 7 years began to drop wifi connectivity too often. It was time for a new one. I read many comparative reviews on combo units and Netgear was most often rated best. I bought the 7700 netgear nighthawk combo. The set up took me 1 1/2 hours, I knew it would take some time from reading comments of those who purchased one like it. Once connected it has been very good. No more dropping wifi. I can't comment on download as my coverage only allows 300 mb. I am satisfied.

Netgear Cable Modem/Router
This is my 2nd Netgear purchase. My previous modem/router lasted 6 yrs. This gives me fast speed and great distance for using my WiFi. Also has capability to protect my personal info from intruders. Easy set up with Netgear staff. Highly recommend.

3.0 docsis is outdated tech
If it wasn't obsolete it would be great but im returning it because docsis 3.0 is now obsolete and isps are going docsis 3.1

Easy to install, clear directions
It was difficult for me to pair it with my devices. Setting up a user name and password of my choosing was also difficult. I googled how and it wasn't helpful. My daughter rescued me and it's working fine.

Router or provider
Overall I am happy with the router-cable modem saves me money with my provider. I do have a couple of issues streaming services and I am not sure if it is the provider or router. Will press Netflix on my remote and sometimes it does not connect to the service. I disconnect power to the modem wait a minute and power back on. This seems to correct the problem for a while and will have to do it in maybe a week or two again. If I did not have this problem I would have given it 5 stars. Hope this helps anyone looking at this unit
