The 4060 Omni Mic is the very first miniature microphone developed by DPA from the best technology previously only used in hearing aids and measurement microphones. This microphone handles sound pressure levels up to 134 dB before clipping occurs. This mic is well suited for applications where the sound source is more remote or damped and you need to have a good balance signal versus noise.
This mic solution is ideal for use in boardrooms, conference facilities, and courtrooms. It is also a great solution for teleconferencing and other applications where excellent vocal pickup is required.
The 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic is a transducer designed to work under optimum conditions when placed on a tabletop, but it also performs well on any other hard, flat surface that reflects sound.
The microphone is a pre-polarized omnidirectional miniature condenser microphone with a 5.4 mm (0.2 in) vertical diaphragm. The mic body consists of a central rubber disc that holds the mic element mounted in an elegant stainless steel base.
The 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic can be very easily placed in essentially any position on the surface of a table, even close to the edge. Users will benefit from the special characteristics of the surrounding sound field on which the mic is mounted: a 6 dB gain of direct sound and only a 3 dB gain of the diffuse sound. The sound captured has both greater clarity, especially at high frequencies, and speech intelligibility compared to sound captured above the surface.
The 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic uses CORE+ by DPA technology and features two M5 threaded holes on the backside of the unit, which means that it can be permanently affixed to the table. Furthermore, the slim cable can be run either through or along the table.
A wide range of connection adapters and power supplies makes it possible to use the 4060 Omni Boundary Layer Mic with any microphone input. It is delivered with a DAD6001 XLR Adapter, but as the supplied cable is terminated with a DPA MicroLock connector this microphone can be connected to a wireless system via the flexible adapter system.
