The Getaway Driver Overdrive Pedal's gain structure is meticulously crafted using single-ended JFET circuitry running in Class A, mirroring the performance of a valve amp. The input buffer, output buffer, and Cab Sim are managed by op-amps, with a charge pump providing 18v of headroom.

This pedal boasts the same transparent, buffered output found in the Orange Two Stroke and Kongpressor pedals. Its second output serves as a buffered Cab Sim/headphone amp, compatible with a PA (via a DI box) or a recording interface. Even when bypassed, the Cab Sim remains engaged, allowing the Getaway Driver to function solely as a Cab Sim if required.

The voicing and gain structure of this pedal are inspired by a cranked, modded '70s valve amp. Depending on your power supply, the pedal can emulate the character of EL84 valves at 9 Volts or an EL34 flavour at 12 Volts. For optimal performance, use a regulated 9-12V DC centre-negative power supply.

The Getaway Driver Overdrive Pedal is not just a device; it's a time machine transporting you back to the golden era of rock. Its sound is modelled on multiple vintage amplifiers, such as a 1972 'Pics Only' Orange Amplifier, modified by our technical director, Ade Emsley.

The Cab Sim Output allows you to connect the pedal directly into an audio interface, the PA (via a DI), or your headphones. It's modelled on a G12H30, a 30 Watt Celestion speaker used in our 1970s Orange cabs. Even when bypassing the pedal, this output remains active, allowing you to use other pedals or amplifier preamps with the Cab Sim only.

Inside the Getaway Driver, you'll find a button that, when engaged, tames the top end, making it ideal for clean channels with treble bleed caps on the volume. This feature is particularly useful for amplifiers like the Orange Rockerverb, as it compensates so it doesn't overcook the top end.
