This bag really can do everything: hiking pack, commuter, backpacking Europe, camera bag, around town bag, diaper bag - and I've done all of those (except the last one, though I've heard friends use it that way). Super extendable, super handy, and the right mix of structure/organization when you want it and 'big dumb bag' when you need it. Can even use the back pocket for a water bladder if you're really going after it. 10/10

Endgame Bag

I bought the v1 many years ago. After about 4 years of daily use, it still works great. However there is discolouration of the fabric. Submitted a warranty claim and no questions asked, Celine just told me that the v1 is no longer in production and asked me to choose a colour for the v2. Best customer service I have encountered! Thanks again Celine.

I love that PD did some tweaks to the v2. The shoulder straps are more comfortable. The adjustable laptop sleeve makes taking out my laptop easier. 

I love that you can customise the orientation of the bag with the dividers or totally remove them depending on my load. I love "key" attachment at the side of the bag. I love the simplicity of the design (a camera bag that does not look like a camera bag). 

I also have been using the Sling and the Capture clip. Both are wonderful, but the way. And the anchor is just so perfect!

Great Bag for camera gear and also everyday carry

This bad has been nothing but loyal and dependable, much like Peak Design themselves. I had this backpack for 5 years before a tiny issue arose. I reached out to PD and they sent me a new one. Here's to another 5 years, an hopefully, more.

After oqning the Ash Everyday Backpack v1 for over 9 years, I retired it and switched over to the v2 Midnight backpack. It's build quality remains superb and it's clear that the Peak Design team took it very seriously when they looked to improve upon the original. 

The pockets, zippers, and magnets allows a versatility unlike any other bag I've used. You can choose how tactical you want the bag to be/appear at any point in time and it perfectly transforms between the sleek commuter and chock full travel partner. 

I cannot recommend this bag highly enough.

Worthy Successor

I've had the v1 and v2 of this bag. It's the best bag in the world - I've tried a lot of bags over the years. It's great for travelling, fits easily in the carry on allowance for domestic and international flights. It has fantastic features. V2 increased the number of neat magnetic closures that keep the bag looking neat. 
The adjustable chest strap is easy to use. Things you don't use every day are hidden - e.g., straps and tie downs. It's expandable. Removable bits to cushion camera gear. Stowage for a laptop plus a tablet. 
One comment I have for the designers is to improve the shoulder hinge on v3. It's very comfortable, but after some time the hinge points can squeak. 
Amongst the 100 great features of this bag that's one gripe. The warranty is lifetime, and serious. I'm on the train now, looking at my brand new replacement bag that PD sent me. It's my second v2. If they make a v3 I'll buy it. 
I also have the Capture Clip and a wrist strap. Everything PD makes is worth your consideration

Nobody's perfect

Great quality, very thoughtful design, amazing customer service, especially the lifetime warranty. The only upgrade I may expect is to decrease the bag's weight.

This is the Everyday wearable backpack, for every purpose, in every situation. This is the goat.

I love it.

This backpack is truly one of a kind - versatile, thoughtfully engineered, and highly usable. Over the years, I've tried many types of camera backpacks, and finally, I landed on Peak Design. I started with the 15L Everyday Zip and later upgraded to the 20L Charcoal Everyday Backpack. I must say, it's a wonderful bag - tough, sleek, and designed with a photographer's real needs in mind. Easily one of the best camera bags in the market.

And I can't go without mentioning Peak Design's incredible warranty service - it's the cherry on top!

One of the best backpacks available

I've been eyeing this backpack for a while and finally bought one, in coyote. I love all the organizations that this bag offers, tried it for a hike even!
I knocked off one star because of two things:
1. The laptop compartment is SO TIGHT! Way too tight, I'm barely able to stick an iPad Pro with keyboard case and nothing else.
2. The side pockets are also SO TIGHT!! I had to struggle to stick an 18-oz water bottle in there.

Has everything I need and the side access makes grabbing anything needed even when in tighter spots like a airplane or waiting in a line

The Last Backpack You'll Ever Need!

This is my second of these bags. I was so disappointed when the zipper failed, but the warranty is great and I had a brand new one in a week. The original lasted me almost 10 years!

Amazing backpack from the Peak Design team. Bought in SF store and the guy there was super helpful. It is without a doubt head and shoulders, including by a country mile, ahead of anything else. Just buy it!

I should have bought this ages ago...

Bought this backpack several years ago and I have not thoughts of ever changing or getting a new bag. It is 100% worth the investment. The quality and design is unparalleled and nearly an indestructible product. The bag has been through the rain, snow, and the sun for 3 years and still feels like brand new. Keeps all my gear weather proof and safe. The bag has outlasted 2 cameras, 2 cars and 2 relationships, absolutely unscathed.

The ultimate everyday bag

Great bag! Well thought, very handy features. Used it in extreme conditions like Antarctica and it was a pleasure to have it. Especially when your shooting with multiple camera's and you need to switch a lot. But what's truly the best is the warrenty and customer service. After a year of 6 I got problems with my zipper. Without hesitation the problem got solved and a complete new bag was send. Which even looks better than the first one. Very happy customer over here in The Netherlands!!!

Outstanding bag and customer service

In 2017, I bought my first backpack. It immediately became my favorite, and I've used it daily ever since. Just before Christmas, one of the zippers broke. I reported it, and after a very smooth process and pleasant contact with customer service, a new bag was sent to me within two days, as it was covered by the lifetime warranty. That gives me, especially in these times, a little faith in humanity. :). I'm now using my new backpack daily again, as always.

Had a V1 which was good, but the V2 is quite an improvement! Love the latch mechanism and how premium this bag feels. Definitely a really good hybrid camera bag :)

Premium Quality Bag! Great warranty

I purchased the Everyday Backpack 30L Charcoal in 2020. Throughout this time it has been my faithful and safe companion for transporting my photographic equipment (and not only). I work in the Middle East, between Israel and Palestine. I am the official photographer of the Earth Custody. I have found the Peak Design backpack very practical in all circumstances, even when you have to change equipment "on the fly", thanks to the convenient side openings. I would like to add that I have found excellent assistance from Peak Design customer service for the replacement of broken material.

A great companion for work and travel

I bought this to use as a camera bag and to hold basic items when I am out all day in NYC or when traveling. It's a beautiful and sturdy bag that holds all of my essentials.

I bought this backpack on Dec. 22, 2024 and received it on Jan. 2, 2025, I have use it seveal times since, but have found it to be to cumberson for a long lens with camera and feels hot along the back.

Everyday backpack 20L v2

I really like the design of my bag, especially the magnetic feature on the straps that keeps the handles attached to the back when the bag isn't on my shoulder. However, I've noticed an issue with the magnet on the body of the bag-it tends to come loose quite easily. Both my friend and I experienced this with the right-side magnet.

To fix it, we had to reinsert the magnet and stitch over its surface to keep it secure. I think adding a stronger internal holder for the magnet, or reinforcing the existing one, would solve this issue and improve the overall design. Thank you for creating such a stylish and functional bag, and I hope this feedback helps! ??

Suggestion for improvement

My V1 bag's zipper broke, and Peak Design's lifetime warranty got me covered. The updates are wonderful and thoughtful to a V1 bag user of 5 years. The bag now stands by in self, zippers are somehow even smoother. The external attachment straps are also reworked, which is a really good call as sometimes the hooks gets stuck on the latch/loop on the V1 bag. I know their price aren't cheap, but with this level of customer service and warranty, the only decision to make when buying bags is which Peak Design bag to get, not whether to get the bag or not.
