No one paid me to say this and I was not offered anything for this review: I love this freaking bag. Ordered from Kickstarter, waited for delivery, just took my first trip and ooh-la-la this bag is a dream. They thought of everything making this thing. It glides across the terminal like butter. Question - do we still all agree butter is smooth? If so then yes- it was like butter. Not cold butter that you need to warm up. Smooth like butter that's been on the counter and is ready to ? ok you get it. Like any good PD product, the design matches the expectations of excellence. It looks nice. It has lots of great features that immediately put my older bags to shame. Thank you Peak Design for making another great product!

My introduction to Peak Design was through the Everyday Backpack, which is still best in class IMO. From there it was the PD phone case, followed by the Wireless Charging Stand, Mobile Tripod, and Universal Bar Mount. At this point, my partner took notice and purchased a PD phone case and Car Mount, which we then upgraded to the charging version. We've been incredibly impressed with the thought behind PD designs, solid build quality, and lifetime warranty. I used the warranty to replace my defective Mobile Tripod after a year of use and the process was seamless. Suffice to say, when I heard about the PD Roller Pro Kickstarter I jumped at the chance for more PD gear. While the rollout was plagued with manufacturing and shipping snafus, the product itself is *peak* Peak Design. They've somehow married the best features of soft- and hard-sided suitcases while minimizing the drawbacks of each -- The outer shell is scratch resistant and allows for an easy-to-access Laptop and accessories pocket while the inner shell offers structure and damage protection. Accessories like the inner straps are accessible but not obtrusive, and the clam shell opening makes packing and unpacking in small spaces (or scrounging for lost items the middle of the airport terminal) a breeze. The build quality and construction are top-notch and meet my expectations for a PD product. The bag is timeless and the team thoughtfully chose to omit built-in features that add weight but could eventually break or become obsolete, like a charging port. (Don't people bring charging equipment to their destination anyway?) And that's just function... let's talk form. She's a BEAUT, is she not? Clean lines, a single piece anodized aluminum handle, and understated color options. The Eclipse (burgundy) color is even more beautiful in person and, though its not flashy, I imagine it will be easy to spot on the luggage carousel. I'm looking forward to pairing it with my Ocean (navy) PD Everyday Backpack.

Bought the song Kickstarter and was stoked after receiving it. I made sure to go to the airport and test it with all of the sizers that I could find to make sure I didn't have to worry for my next flight and it fit in every single one. I personally see the value in it as I don't think I'll ever have to get another roller carry on ever again.

I travel the world extensively and have gone through many roller-boards as carry-on luggage, but have never found one I really liked all that much. When Peak Design announced the kickstarter for this, I jumped on it, knowing I would love it given how much I love and rave about everyone of their products (and I own almost every PD product). Exceptional in every way, from wheels to the slim carbon fiber pull handle to the way it opens, secures content, and provides easy access for quick-needed items.

I've put the Roller Pro through real-world travel and on-set days, and it's a standout. As a photographer and frequent flyer, the size is perfect on site for work, it glides through airports as a carry-on, and its design stays discreet everywhere. I also use it for weekends away. Extremely happy with the versatility and solidity, this roller feels built for the long haul. Five stars.

I ordered this bag within minutes of it being made available on Kickstarter. Super happy that it arrived in time for my overseas trip next week to Japan. I took it for a bit of a test drive outside and it lt well and truly lives up to the hype. My only disappointment(?) is that the laptop sleeve case is only big enough for one device ie. either a laptop or an ipad but not both. But its totally understandable! I had to pick on something ;)

My second Kickstarter for Peak Design...the first one was the Everyday Backpack v1. Love the Roller Pro - - Wheels are smooth and rolls effortlessly on carpet, concrete, tiles, etc. They are also wider than typical roller bags so stability is great, when you zig-zagging in the airport to catch the next flight - A lot of space inside and love the adjustable cord system that holds everything down - Draw-bridge open is refershing, easy to get things out without spread out my stuff like a Chinese buffet. - Only fear I have is how well will the soft exterior hold up when I have to gate check it...time will tell.

The Roller Pro is as close to perfect as you can get. I've own three other roller bags from other manufactures and they all had issues. So I continued my search for the perfect roller. The bag looks sharp and has a nice texture and feel. Rather than dwell on the short comings of the other bags I'll highlight some of the key features of the PD Roller bag. The wheels really do work flawlessly and glide easily. The expansion feature works well and gives extra space when needed. The handle works very well and saves a lot space in the bag. The zipper is smooth and reassuring. I got the XL insert and it's just like all of Peak designs dividers, super and well thought out.

I purchased this item on KickStarter because it seemed to promise the world. After much ado and 'lost' shipments I finally got it. Looks neat but it is too heavy by far to be a great carry-on. The carbon fiber handles are very techno-fancy don't seem to save all that much space inside. The locking procedure is clumsy at best. And worst of all the promise of "Global Carry-On Compliant" is simply not true from what I can tell. From online sources it appears that it meets the requirements of perhaps 1/3 of airlines worldwide. They promised the world but failed to deliver. Color me unhappy...

I love my new Roller Pro! Honestly, I love it so much I briefly considered kicking my husband out of bed so I could fall asleep gazing at its perfect wheels. The wait was long, but worth every second. I was so excited when it arrived that I booked a trip within three days-because how could I not take it out on an adventure? And adventure we did. Most of the time the wheels were so smooth I had to chase it, instead of dragging it around like other carry-ons. It glides so effortlessly I half expect it to win Olympic figure skating gold. It's so functional it actually makes me feel dysfunctional. My old luggage is now sulking in the closet, wondering how it was so easily replaced. I can barely remember life before my Roller, and frankly, trying to think back is just painful.

I love this bag. It completely meets all my expectations. My one caveat is the weight, which I know will be an issue if I travel with middle eastern carriers that usually impose a weight limit of 7kg.

I backed this on kickstarter as a standard fulfillment backer. Peak Design has been extremely communicative and transparent about the (honestly very) minimal delays. No complaints! Regarding the bag itself, it's likely the best carry on I've owned. My other ~$300 roller is the same outer size but fits less somehow. I was able to work out of it on a filming trip I went on the day after I received this roller in the mail. It's extremely easy to use, super smooth, well laid out, and perfect for a traveling creator. I don't even need the camera cubes or dividers. On my trip, I was caught in an extremely heavy sudden downpour. The roller protected my equipment perfectly and all the water wiped right off with absolutely no residue. Incredible engineering! Mine is from the batches where the hinge makes fart sounds. That's not so great, but I plan on taking it in to the store to get them to lube it. Besides that I have had absolutely no issues.

I bought this on Kickstarter several months ago. I was delighted to finally get it and found that like all my peak design purchases, it did not disappoint. It's elegantly built and you could tell much thought was put into the design. Looking forward to my next trip with this on board for the flight.

I had to wait a whopping 5 months to get my hands on this bag, but it's absolutely worth it! It's the best carry-on bag I've ever had, and it looks top-notch. Plus, you can keep all your devices and important documents close and easily accessible. The materials are top-notch, and the carbon fiber handle and wheels feel super comfortable and lightweight. It's also got some cool secret hiding spots for your AirTag and important documents.

This is hands down the most ingeniously designed suitcase I've ever used. I'd like to highlight three key aspects: Capacity: Many people complain that the capacity is too small, but I don't see this as a design flaw or problem at all. As a carry-on, its capacity actually helps maintain optimal overall dimensions. In fact, the capacity itself serves as a decision-making tool-pack too much, and you won't be able to lift it into the overhead compartment. Laptop Compartment: This is what I consider the most brilliant design feature to date. While not entirely original, their execution makes me feel completely confident about my laptop's safety inside. It's secured so well that whether I'm rolling the suitcase or placing it in the overhead bin, I never worry about my computer. Carbon Fiber Feel: The carbon fiber texture feels absolutely premium. This company has truly mastered the use of carbon fiber materials. However, I believe the interior lining material they chose is even more impressive than the carbon fiber exterior-it significantly elevates the sense of refinement and feels far more reliable than the cheap linings you'd find in other suitcases. The only downside is that my unit arrived with some surface stains, and unfortunately, the exterior material makes these blemishes extremely difficult to clean off, which is quite disappointing.

So far, so good. I received my Roller Pro purchased via the "standard" Kickstarter. This is my first Peak Design purchase...very pleased with the build quality of the bag. Pleasantly surprised by the space. It's visibly smaller than by Briggs and Riley "European" roll aboard bag but it seems to have equal if not more packable space. The wheels and extending handle are smooth as silk. I appreciate all the details - pockets, ties, tie locations, laptop pocket, etc. This will be my cabin carry-on that I'll use for most trips. The B&R is being assigned check-in bag duties to be used only when necessary.

I was looking for a carryon that maximized the interior space and was not clam shell opening and this suitcase definitely fits the bill! The extra pockets allow for additional storage space in addition to computer protected pocket. It really is an elegant bag and I love the burgundy/purplish color! Between this bag and my personal bag I'll be cruising Norway and spending a week in Scotland! Great for getaways and longer trips also.sturdy construction, spins like a dream and love the polycarbonate handle.

Dang I wish this roller came out two years ago. I have a perfectly good carry on. But I went ahead and got the PD Roller Pro for the design items that PD put into it. It's the flexibility of packing that I sold me. As a photographer traveling is a lot harder now and keeping my gear with me is very important. Using the packing cubes allows for flexibility. the roller has so many cool features I dare say it's my last piece of luggage. thank you PD. No it's not the least expensive roller out there but consider it an investment and well saving up for. BTW my daughter really does appreciate my other roller.

I got my Roller Pro as a kickstarter. This is the first time I took it on a trip and it has been so amazing. I am traveling in Japan right now so the Roller Pro came in very handy. I love that I can easily convert it from carrying my camera gear to carrying clothing for a weekend getaway. The thought put into every aspect is amazing. I really don't have any complaints.

Received this a couple weeks prior to 2 week trip to the US. Loved how the clamshell design really did make it easy to access everything inside, could be done while on one seat in an airplane. The front access was very convenient for holding passports, boarding passes, power bank and iPads. It makes grabbing everything easy from security check. The wheels were very smooth and hopefully there will be a newer version that allows you to lock them. The 360 handles make it easy to grab out of overhead compartments whichever angle you shoved it in. Shame the passthrough of my Tom Bihn Synik 22 didn't easily go through but that is not PD's fault regarding compatibility.

You're use might be different. I travel a good bit for work and I love the way it opens versus the clamshell style. The draw bridge opening makes it much easier to load and unload (I use the packing cubes) and actually much easier to grab something while in the overhead bin!

I've been excited about this roller bag for a while, as it addresses some of the issues I've encountered with roller bags in the past - the handle taking up space inside, hard sides limiting capacity, and wheels being lackluster, among others. To be clear, I'm not a roller bag person but rather a duffel pack kind of a guy. With that said, I also use a backpack so I'm always interested in moving a duffel off of my back. I'm a huge fan of Peak Design products so when they were releasing this I was excited to try it. I took this on a 7 day multi-city European trip with 3 airports, 3 hotels, trains, and car trips. It definitely addresses all of my concerns and surpassed by (no benefit of the doubt) expectations of a roller bag. Inside is well designed and functional for traveling and living out of a suitcase, especially if you use packing cubes. The construction and durability is top notch, with one critical flaw. When the bag is full, the zipper takes on a lot of stress at the point where it curves towards the bottom. For the casual traveler with a single destination, I think this will be a non-issue but for the road warrior optimizing capacity I'd be concerned that zipper will fail at some point. Yes, it has a great warranty but the concern would be a failure on a journey. If the zipper was a larger gauge this would be less of a concern. I hope that I'm proven wrong. Regardless, I think this is an amazing bag that I'll actually use.

There are several points to note. First of all, it's so easy to handle and move around maybe because of handle and tyres. This really makes you feel comfortable traveling with this roller. Secondary, I like how the lid is designed as I don't need to turn around the roller to open. You can adjust how widely the lid can be opened, so depending on how you want to use you can easily adjust the range to open the lid. Easily accessible small pokets both infornt and inside are also very useful.
