Didn't know what I was missing until I tried this. 158 RAW+JPG at 50mp from my A1 downloaded to my desktop (with a USB4 port and appropriate cable) in what felt like 10 seconds! 50gb wedding video from an FX30 in a couple of minutes, not 30-45 as I am used to. And the magnetic surprised me as it helps lock the reader to the top of my pc case and saves me desktop space. Since I got this, I'm shooting everything now on CF Express A cards just for the download speed to my PC. My SD cards are now backups.

Manufacture's Warning Danger to Hard & Optical Disk Drives from Magnetic built in. From the ads I assumed the magnetic was in the base. It is part of the reader making it very danger-est to carry around in your catch all bag. What kind of hard drive are they talking about???? Paper clips, USB cords etc. are always attaching themselves to the reader. I do not see a non-magnetic version available. To top it off even if I were to use the mounting system I threw away the 1/2" logo name plate which I assumed was some kind of costly Apple like packaging. The box is too big to use as an anti-magentic container. I find the Prograde Digital CFexpress Type-B cards very hard to get out of my Nikon z8. Some times it takes 2 seconds and at other times it take 30 seconds of wiggling to get removed from the camera with repeated reinserts etc. There is a catch when inserting the Prograde memory into the reader so you think it is all the way inserted and you get computer notices of bad connections leading you to believe it is the wrong cord etc. Might be the same for other cards? To use you are advised to up grade the firmware before using it due to failure problems. "It is recommended that you update your firmware if: The PG05.5 reader's serial number has a "0", "1", or "2" in the fourth digit from the left. The PG05.6 reader's serial number has a "0" in the fourth digit from the left." pasted from web site. I had several screen hang ups for the firmware till I found another web page that worked. They brag about their software maintenance download that only works with Prograde, However you have to open an sales account to get to the download. Personal information required. Another click bait e-mail arrangement. Hopefully this a scamming because I find no reader comments in reviews 's about their cards in other readers and on Nikon. NEF's run faster than on my laptop solid state drive using NX Studio.

The reader worked wonderfully for about a year, then the CFexpress ejector stopped working. I asked for a repair or replacement through the manufacturer's website and never heard back.

This thing has a solid build and its fast. Its about half the size of a deck of cards so pretty small and out of the way, and easy to stuff away when on the go. USB-C cables comes with it as well - bonus! I would definitely recommend this.

I got this for the CFE-A chip needed for the FX6, not realizing it had the SDXC function. When I found out the FX6 will do 95% of the work with the much cheaper SDXC cards, I was delighted to find that it worked for those too. It transfers on USB 3.2 at over 300MB/s, so transfer speeds are as advertised. I think I'll order another soon.

This is a good CF/A and SDXC reader. I needed it to expand on my iMac. Unfortunately, it takes up one of only two USB-C slots on the iMac. Why Apple?! 2? I digress. It won?t work with a USBA-USBC cable either. I think it has to do with the data transfer speeds of CF/A cards which need the USBC bandwidth. Other than that, it seems reliable for only being 2 weeks old.
