For context, I'm used to the old Compact Flash cards with older DSLR's (D3s, D810, etc) and have an old Lexar card reader, which still works just fine for CF and SDXC cards. I recently bought a Nikon Z8, and with that CFExpress cards. I can't believe the transfer rate on a decent card (Lexar Professional) plus this card reader. I think the term "blazing fast" would adequately describe it, compared to what I am used to with the old Compact Flash cards. Not sure about the magnetic back though......I stopped using a laptop for editing a long time ago. I put it on top of my desktop, and as soon as the magnet touched it and clung to the metal case, it rebooted my computer. I ended up buying a 5 foot USB cable for it, and just plug it the reader on my desk when it's needed.

I needed a new card reader to read CFX-B cards. Works great, fast transfer speed but it does get hot if you forget to pull your card out.

Pro: fast. Really fast, which is good, because my cards are 128 gigs if I fill them, and the camera has two cards. Cons: It was a little cranky about showing the CFE slot, until I rebooted the system, and the cards get warm if you don't remove them as soon as you are done having them read. Solid purchase

Works perfectly for both CFExpress type B and SD. As it has a fairly strong magnetic base, keep it away from sensitive equipment; the cable is long enough.

Great product. Works great, but runs a bit hot with the CFExpress card. Too bad it will not read an XQD. Perfect companion for a D850 with CFExpress and SD UHS II combo ... but not the older XQD (same pin out & shape, just will not read) This is in the fine print, so not a surprise.

I was skeptical at first at how much faster this could actually be, but WOW! If you are a professional shooter and transfer large amounts of files from your cards often, even daily like myself, then this will be a huge time saver. Easily double the speed of my existing card reader, so after a long day of shooting photo or video, it takes me half the amount of time to copy 28 to 35 GB of data. So glad I made this purchase.
