This thing is a beast. I'm packing an entire travel camera package in here. The bottom layer is vmount batteries, follow focus, and gimbal. Next layer we have a mavic 2 with accessories, camera mounts, and shoulder rig. The top layer is the camera in cage, monitors, and lenses. The pick n pluck foam isn't really made for extended heavy use and takes a little of diy elbow grease to make sturdy. I use a lot of hot glue to help keep all the seams from tearing apart and add thin ridged sheets under each "shelf". It beats paying an extra arm and a leg for the Pelican inserts and is a fine enough solution. In the future I may look into Kaizen Foam for a more custom fit and finish. Lastly I fitted this thing with a lid organizer, which IMO is a must. Right now my case comes in just under 100 pounds fully loaded which is the limit for checking media equipment with Delta.

This Pelican case is huge! Its going to work well to pack all of my woodworking tools and ship it to the east coast for work. I would recommend all of the Pelican case, they are the BEST!!!

The Pelican cases are wonderfully strong. The foam works well and does its job protecting. However, I wish the unpicked pieces could be a bit more duariable. Overall, very satisifed with my purchase.

I use the Pelican 1660 to store and transport all my camera gear. I have 6 lenses including some of the bigger ones: Canon 500mm f/4, 300mm f/2.8, and 70_200 f/2.8. I haven't come close to filling the Pelican up yet. In the past I had my gear located in several large camera bags, but it got to be a hassel keeping track of where everything was at a given time. Also, when I wanted to go somewhere with all my lenses it required me to load four camera bags into the car. Although the Pelican 1660 is large, it's not really that heavy and rolls very easily. I can lift it into the back of my SUV very easily and I'm just an average size guy. I would recommend getting the lid organizer also.

This is a great case to bring my printer along on shoots. It has wheels which is great. The weight with the printer is heavy and it takes two people to load and unload.

Pelican 1660 Case
By MARK M.
Sturdy case for safely transporting items in any weather.
Sensitive equipment needs protection, and since 1976 the answer has been the Pelican Protector Case. These cases are designed rugged, and travel the harshest environments on earth. Against the extreme cold of the arctic or the heat of battle, Pelican cases have survived.
Made in the USA, these tough cases are designed with an automatic purge valve, that equalizes air pressure, a watertight silicone O-ring lid, over-molded rubber handles and stainless steel hardware.
