The Proton PCI-HFR-FLEX is a professional-grade, ultra-compact high-frame-rate (HFR) slow-motion mini broadcast camera manufactured by Proton Camera Innovations. It is engineered for live sports replay, esports, remote television production, and point-of-view (POV) angles where traditional, bulky slow-motion cameras cannot physically fit.
The primary distinction of the FLEX variant is its modular design. The miniature lens and sensor camera head can be decoupled and physically separated from the main video processing chassis via a ribbon link. This isolates heat dissipation, drastically lowers the mounting footprint at the tip, and opens up highly creative rigging options.
High Frame Rate Slow-Motion
Captures up to 240 frames per second (fps) in crisp Full HD, allowing for glassy-smooth slow-motion replay during sports and high-action broadcasts.
Global Shutter Sensor
Utilizes a larger 2/3" global shutter sensor which eliminates spatial distortion or "jello effect" artifacts caused by fast-moving subjects.
Modular "Flex" Footprint
The detachable sensor head allows operators to mount the lens mechanism in impossibly tight spaces (like inside goalposts, on basketball hoops, or vehicle chassis) while running processing from a safer, hidden location.
Broadcast-Grade Imaging & HDR
Supports high 12-bit dynamic range and is fully HD-HDR compliant, integrating seamlessly with HLG, PQ, and S-Log3 coloring pipelines.
Professional Remote Paint CCU
Designed to match and integrate natively into mainstream broadcast shading systems like Cyanview for real-time remote color, exposure, and multi-camera matching.
