For bow hunting this falls way short. In low light, ranging things < 70 yards will show a random wrong yardage like "1635 yards". My old Nikon performed much better for bow hunting.

Fantastic range finder, highly recommend. Furthest I got with it was 1562 yds and closest was down to 4 yds. Got a better range in low light than during the day.

i have used leupold range finders for years bow hunting where range is so critical. rifle hunting is not that important to me. i do not take long shots on big game but i use it to evaluate ranges in places where i might see game. 300 yds. is about my max.

Are you kidding me!? This rangefinder has it all, from the awesome 6x magnification that allows my old eyes to see targets clearly to the ballistic adjustments built in to match the ammunition I'm shooting. This rangefinder is awesome! Match this rangefinder to any CDS scope of your choice and you won't be disappointed. All my Leupold products just flat out perform! Thanks Leupold!!

Could have very easily came with a tripod attachment in the body like the 2800. For that I give it a 3. SMH.

I bought this rangefinder to verify target distance at the local range. This device reads target ranges at the longest distance available - 963 yards.

I have not really used it yet. I like the small size of it and the coating on it. I am a bow hunter and I carry my binoculars and range finder mourned my neck and sometimes they bang together and make more noise than I like. I don't think I will have that problem with this anymore. I also like the features that this range finder offer. I am looking forward to using them this fall in Colorado bow hunting for elk.

My buddy has had one for years and has always been great. Haven't had a chance to bring this hunting yet, but I'm looking forward to it this fall.

Great warranty service
By Mountaineer 2.
I purchased the RX-1200 model early last year. Due to work constraints, I waited until hunting season to open it up and put it to work and it failed immediately. Wouldn't range in any mode. Shipped (Oct 2017) it back to Leupold but was told there was no more inventory and I would have to wait for new model to ship. Received my new replacement (upgraded to RX-1600 model at no cost) yesterday (30 Jan 2018) and so far it is awesome. Although I missed the hunting season without a rangefinder, Leu...

Great product and great company
By Bsharp
Always spot on! Had an issue with earlier model 1000 and the company took care of me with replacement.
The RX-1600i TBR/W with DNA is a workhorse ready for any hunt. It delivers the farthest, most accurate ranging in its class - out to 1,600 yards - and uses our True Ballistic Range/Wind for greater first-shot success. It doesn't matter if you're carrying a rifle or a bow this season, you'll want to carry an RX-1600i TBR/W, too.
6X Magnification
6x magnification gives you plenty of power, while maintaining a wide field of view to track game on the move.
Built-In Inclinometer (TBR Models Only)
The RX series rangefinders have a built-in inclinometer with TBR that can calculate the ballistic range to your target, then display it as a holdover aim point, an MOA adjustment, a Milliradian adjustment or the equivalent horizontal distance.
CR2 Lithium Battery
Powered by the readily available CR2 lithium camera battery, the RX-Rangefinders with DNA feature a convenient battery power indicator.
DNA (Digitally eNhanced Accuracy)
Our next generation rangefinder engine with DNA (Digitally eNhanced Accuracy) delivers increased accuracy, speed and range.
Fold Down Rubber Eyecups
Fold-down rubber eyecups can accommodate users with or without glasses.
Fully Multicoated (RX)
A fully multicoated lens system ensures a bright, pristine image.
Line Of Sight Distance (RX)
Line Of Sight Distance (LOS) accurately gives you the straight line distance to the target.
Quick Set Menu
Get the settings you want fast with the Quick Set Menu. The one-handed controls make RX rangefinders easy to use in the field, even when your hands are sweaty or the weather is at its worst.
Scan Mode (RX)
Continuous range updates in Scan Mode keep you on target as you track movement or scan an area.
Select from three different reticles
Offers three different reticles to choose from: Plus Point, Duplex and Duplex with Plus Point.
Armor coated and rugged
The durable aluminum housing is shrouded in a rubber armor coating that provides a positive grasp.
OLED Display
Leupolds OLED display delivers more light to the users eye while also providing an extremely bright display with easy to read numbers and letters. This is important when trying to range smaller objects and objects far away. You can't range what you can't see.
Trophy Scale (RX)
Select RX models let you instantly and accurately judge the width and/or height of a target using the Trophy Scale feature. Once the baseline Trophy Scale value has been saved, the Trophy Scale bracketing system will automatically adjust to changing distances to the target. Trophy Scale lets you know if your target measures up.
True Ballistic Range with Wind (TBR/W)
TBR/W technology takes into account the angle of your shot and your rifle's ballistics to put you dead on. Line-of-sight measurements won't put you on target and any other rangefinder won't give you accurate ranges because they use basic trigonometry to calculate the distances instead of true ballistics. TBR/W is also the easiest way to account for wind out to distances of 800 yards. It generates a hold point for a 10-mph wind at a 90 degree angle to your direction of aim.
