Effective and lightweight bullhead
I use this ballhead on both a monopod and travel tripod. Its extremely lightweight, yet locks solidly, even with a telephoto lens mounted upon it. I use it in combination with an Acra Swiss style clamp for secure quick connect to all my camera bodies, long lens mounts and accessories. The knob has a nice range of motion to create gradual tension for controlled variable friction.
It adds only three inches to the folded length of my monopod or tripod.
