I ordered this for my A7IV that has a fully articulating screen and it works great. The L-bracket that I was using got in the way of the screen when trying to flip it out to the side. Now I'm free to operate the screen whichever way i need to. 
I also like how much lighter it is.
Switching from landscape to portrait orientation is way easier too, like using the collar mounts on long lenses.
