Construction & Build
A mahogany body is always a great place to start when you're looking for great resonance and tonality; this is no exception. Schecter is known, as are many guitar makers, for carefully sourcing their tonewoods to provide the best and most consistent quality. From there, a mahogany neck reinforced with carbon fiber provides incredible stiffness and boosts the projecting abilities of the body to generate big, powerful sound. A stiff neck also helps to eliminate flat or dead spots on the fretboard, and this guitar sounds great up and down the scale. A set-neck joint joins the neck and body for a combination that's greater than the sum of its parts.

Components & Hardware
Where the Custom-S really stands out from the crowd is in its componentry. A Sustainiac pickup unit is installed next to a standard Seymour Duncan Invader, providing the synthetic backup you need to push your playing to the next level. This is part of the 9v-powered active pre-amp system, and you'll have access to everything at your fingertips, thanks to the on-body controls for volume, tone, and sustain modulation.
