The autofocus can be a little slow at times, but for the price and compared to the price of the G master, this is an excellent lens and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good budget telephoto lens

Image quality is excellent in a relatively compact design. This will be a great outdoor lens for wildlife and nature photography. The image stabilization is pretty amazing, even at 400mm. Build quality is also a strong suit of Sigma lenses - this lens feels sturdy, well built. Overall I'm really loving it!

Solid, premium build. Occasionally the autofocus isn?t ideal, but that may have more to do with my camera body, the Panasonic S5. Also it is annoying that it doesn't come with a collar. No complaints image quality-wise.

The best replacement for the expensive Sony GM lenses. it's a good sharp lens, although the autofocusing is not the best of the best it does the job. If you are shooting many actions related photos you might have to reconsider the lens because of its slow autofocusing. this is a worthy lens in every aspect, it's worth the price you are paying.

This lens looks well built, not that heavy either. 100-400mm range is quite good given the price tag. On the downside though, at max zoom the image stabilization is not great, I could get very few sharp images, that too in burst mode, not well suited for handheld shots. For quality image you need a tripod, and for that need to buy the tripod ring which is missing in the package here.

For the money, this is a wonderful lens. If it cost a few hundred more it would still be wonderful, but I'm thankful the price is where it's at. AF is very quick and nearly silent. Length is great and hits a good spot for carrying around. I found this suitable for outdoor portraits, landscapes, wildlife and everything in between. It fits at the long end of my setup. I carry a Sony FE 1.8/50, a Sony FE 4/24-105 G OSS and this 100-400mm 1:5-6.3 DG DN. The OSS is incredible for such a long lens, enabling me to do some video at 400mm handheld! This is paired with my Sony A7rII.

Overall, a good lens. I got this for my wife as a present. For the same price as just the lens, it includes the Coral editing software, filters, and a pouch. Lens works great and it fit the sony 6400 perfectly. However, it's been almost a month and we still have not received the filters and the pouch doesn't quit fit (see pics). Software hasn't been tried yet. Overall, recommend the product, just don't place too much value on the added accessories.

I had the Nikon version before switching to Sony. Both were VERY sharp. AF is fast enough. The lens is light enough to use handheld but sometimes a tripod is the way to go. The Sigma collar is stupid expensive. The Haoge LMR-SM140S is 1/3 the cost and work fine. I switched to Sony for travel and this is a good long lens solution for wildlife destinations when the trip isn't all about photography.

Very solid lens, and good optics but wasn't happy with the autofocus, especially for video. Perhaps I did not set it up correctly. I sent it back and was almost sad to do so because otherwise it felt good.

So far the lens has performed well for me. That said, definitely make sure to purchase the tripod socket for it as well as it's a bit unwieldy by hand and too front-heavy to rely on a camera being the tripod attachment. I'm a warm-weather guy, so I haven't taken it out much yet, but the sample images I've tried so far, without a tripod, have been nice and crisp once I control my hand shake That said, bundle is so-so. The lens case didn't really fit the lens at all, so that was disappointing. The filters and other accessories are nice, though I don't think my use-cases will justify the other components.

Great lens for wildlife, nature and landscapes. Amazingly enough I have been able to pull off some good enough portraits with this lens getting a nice compressed background within the variable apertures that it offers. It is perfect for the price vs a Sony G Master competing against this. I do not regret getting this lens at all, build is great, sealed and fairly premium. The only downside so far is finding a good enough lens collar that isn't as expensive as Sigma's. Yes, lens collar is sold separately, but still it is a great lens and stabilization mechanics really work well.
