Even in a mirrorless age this is still I must have tool for me.

I hear a lot of people say that with modern cameras especially mirrorless a lot meter is unnecessary but I would disagree. Especially if you shoot in a studio I still think it's an indispensable tool. I can easily set up my lighting to match previous shoots for a client and have everything ready before the first model ever steps in front of the camera. This saves time and definitely looks much more professional than spending 30 minutes fiddling with settings.

Is a day and night of diference

Is day and night, there's two kind of photographers. The onea that get a lucky shot and can not recreate it any more. And the one that usa a Sekonic and can do the same shoot over and over again, no matter place or luck

Use of my new Sekonic Lightmeter

This Sekonic Litemaster Pro L-478D-U Light Meter is the best purchase I made for my photography business. I do a lot of HS sports and lighting in most gymnasiums is very poor. I generally have an idea of what settings to use when I walk into the gym and see the lighting. It used to be a WAG, but this meter gives me the correct settings immediately, no guessing. Properly setting the flash units for my portrait sessions is so much easier, too. It has saved me a lot of editing time and I feel it has paid for itself. Thank you Sekonic and Adorama!

Works great, but cheaply made.

I don't know how Sekonic's higher end light meter is but this one feels cheap for the price tag. Like most made in China products (this one is Philippines) feels cheap and plasticky. It would be fine if they used some type of hardened plastic. It feels fragile. Also the display is not pleasing to the eye. Overall, they used cheap materials in the construction of this item even though it is being sold at a hefty $ Other than that, it does the job it was designed for.

Don't leave home without it....

I do a lot of indoor photos with challenging lighting conditions and this little item makes my life easier and photos better. I lost my previous L-478D and immediately ordered this replacement as a must-have in my tool kit. I don't leave home without it.

Should have bought this sooner

This light meter makes all the difference in getting great exposures. It is simple to use, very lightweight, but seems durable so far I would highly recommend it.

Out of the box the meter seemed to be accurate. Calibration is easy but is a fickle process. I had to Google info to figure out the error messages. The manual or website was not very helpfule. The touch screen isn't that great. I have to press several time to get it to respond. Battery life is not long. Not a bad product. I would rate 3 out of 5.

Great, compact light meter that works

I use this meter primarily for environmental portraiture. Using this meter makes balancing the amount of flash light (ratios) with ambient light extremely simple. No more guessing!

Needs a better manual

I think I'm slowly figuring it out. Still not quite sure how to balance flash and ambient using this meter as it's my first. I can say that the battery life is very poor. Not sure about the durability of this product. The touchscreen is not that responsive. Wish I could have bought the L-358. Does not come with a mini USB cord for software and firmware updates. Does not come with necessary equipment for calibration. Thinking about sending it back.
