Rock Solid
I had an older inexpensive tripod I used for my Canon 60D it was okay until I added a Tamron 150 ~ 600 mm lens. I was using the above to shoot pictures of the moon. At a 45 degree angle it became unsteady and was hard to lock the head onto the moon as it always moved afterwards. My Slik SH-909 pan head is steady and easily holds the weight.
Awesome Tripod Head for SLIK 700DX
I use a 5DMKiii with a battery grip, and radio transmitter along with a connector plate so that I can quickly move the camera to a slider, video tripod, etc. The rig was a little too much for the stock head, making the camera unstable and hard to properly align when needed.
