Gary M : Currently have a 47 inch vizio but the sound system seems poor to us, hard to hear with background sounds or when the volume is increased. Does this have a good or better sound system?SONYA W : all tv have bad sound get yourself a 5.1 and be done with itJOHN A : i have three led hd tv's..... 1 40" HBR Sony 1 46" HBR Sony 1 26" LG i believe most of the thin panel tv's have speakers provided with small low wattage speakers. however, the speakers put out reasonable undistorted sound at a reasonable volume. i supplement my larger tv's with a home sound system, with surround sound. with the smaller 26" tv used in my bedroom/den, i use a small speaker system (2 small speakers and 1 base woofer unit) that came with my old desk top computer. separate sound systems that are higher wattage are available that are inexpensive. i get very good sound projection with these cheapies in the smaller room. i'm surprised that your Visio tv speakers are that noisy. getting a separate speaj=ker system should take of your concerns. good luck.
