With the right combination of sound bar and connection wires its well worth the money. For a amp sub its just fine. I have had mine almost 3 years.

I have mine wired so the signal comes in through one RCA line and when my reciever wants to the sub has very good sound. The band and gain adjustments allow you to fine tune your experience also.

Great sound reproduction of low notes. It's like the bass player is in the room.

Got this to go with my multimedia system and WOW does it perform . whether its music or movies this little baby brings the power (just ask my neighbors). I have turned it down some on the speaker to keep the peace in my apt complex but the neighbors still get to feel when I'm watching movies.

I have had two of these and am very satisfied. As much effort should have been put in the terrible Sony bookshelves I bought and couldn't give away.

I bought this with the SS-F7000 mains and am very happy with the combination. The amp is no longer being produced but is only a year out of production. STR-DH 520. Nearly a 1000 watt am over 7.1 channels. This sub paired with the mains above is perfect.

first of all i would like to thank sony for providing people with limited money to purchase a surprisingly great subwoofer. i have a sony str-de945 receiver, sony ss-f7000 for mains and sony sa-w2500. this system sounds great! i really think sony hit the mark with this one. in the past sony has made some trash dont get me wrong but here latelly they have surprised me. i would reccomend this sub to anyone. i am thinking of picking another sony sa-w2500 up since the receiver has 2 sub outputs.

I just hooked up this subwoofer to another manufacturers sound bar and am extremely pleased. The entire dynamic of the sound is changed by reproducing the low frequencies. First I played a DVD movie and then a BD of a live concert and was completely blown away. Sony hit it out of the park with this one and the value is unbelievable.

I purchased this sub woofer because I found that my sound bar didn't have the bass that was needed to get the full dynamic audio range that I needed to accomendate my hearing loss. I watch "Las Vegas" and anyone who watches that show knows how deep Ed's voice is. With my hearing loss, I had to strain and missed out on most of his dialogue. Not any more with this sub woofer. I have the volume set right in the middle and everything is perfect. I'm know that there are better and more expensive sub woofers out there but I can't see any reason to spend the extra cash unless you need more features.

I added this unit to my home surround sound system. This thing will rattle the windows! Pure bass with no distortion, at least at the levels I have used it. Frequency cut-out is selectable, and the unit is self powered. Great sound for the price!

After "enjoying" life without a subwoofer for 24 years I finally broke down and bought one last fall. My choice was Sony's SA-W2500 Powered Subwoofer. I did some online research and read the reviews for a number of subwoofers. Buying this subwoofer was in all honesty a leap of faith based on a number of positive reviews. This purchase has had a profound effect on the performance of all of my home audio and video components. This subwoofer reproduces all of the pounding lows that most speakers just will not produce. If you want to help all of your music playback, digital cable content output, and movie playback sound rich and achieve a higher level of audio fidelity, purchase this subwoofer. If your system doesn't have a subwoofer, this one is a high performing, low cost choice.

I have had one of these for over two years, and I have it connected to the $99 Sony shelf system. Together they provide sound for our main TV in the living room. Regular TV, movies, and concert DVD's all sound very good. I could not be happier with this product.

excellent and simple, built in cross over adjust, polarity reverse (to sinc with head unit output), power save (sucks), independent volume adjust, connects via interconnect cable (not included), for a sub woofer under 100$ msrp (can be purchased cheaper) you can touch the sound or in my opinion the great looks with the cover off, the power and sharpness bring my neighbor knocking any time i turn my sony 820 reciever over 26 (less than 50%) with sub at 80% vol, great sub no problems in 2 yrs all adjustment work fine and it looks good, my only complaint is the power save button/mode once it goes into power save mode there is a 3-5 second delay before you will hear bass again, but its an easy fix just turn it off using the button on the back of sub, buy it and enjoy

not a bang for the buck product, but rather a bang your buck (as in the ones you just saved by buying this model over some overpriced unit). this one does just what you need it to do without any real frills added. that's great. simplicity rules!! performance and reliabilty are only rated a 3, partially because i just got this sub yesterday. the reliability i don't really have an issue with as it's a sony. have never had a problem with a sony product other than used it to death. performance is just a 3 simply because this thing just does what it's suppposed to do. in my mind, those 3's are just as good as 5's.
