I have the 9.7 canvas cover. It looks stylish and provides no slip grip. Considering that it is built for the Tab A, it gets things right. The tablet snaps onto the two posts (it takes a bit of guessing as to where the holes are in relation to the post, but once you get one, you've got the other. The cover closes with a satisfying magnetic snap and lifting the flap gives you access to the unit. The magnet also signals the Tab A to shut off the screen. Perfect, no. As people have noted the easel setup only works horizontally. I wish that it would do vertical too. There is also no place to put an S-pen or small pieces of paper (like a business card, etc.) to provide a one-stop system. I'd love it if I could just snatch up the Tab and go rather than having to get two or three things.

This case looks very nice, before the edges of the canvas material fray. I need to cut the frayed edges off regularly. I wasn't looking for a case that I needed to maintain. The canvas is easy to grip, making the big tablet feel less awkward to carry around. The main reason I bought this case was because of the mounting system that was built into the tablet itself, so I didn't have to get bothered by the corners holding a 3rd party case. The magnet placement is pretty terrible. The only strong place to set the angle is really low or quite high. Anywhere in-between and it will not stand very strong to a light touch. There isn't really any protection to the tablet on the top or bottom, I've gotten a few scrapes already. The case also doesn't close as intended, in my... case... I have to put the flap underneath, letting dust settle on the screen.

Very Pleasing Color

THIS IS A FOLLOW-UP. I looked for a case for the Galaxy Tab A with S pen. Samsung got slender and sophisticated right, but functional gets a failing grade. The "magnetic attachment" is absolutely useless, as in doesn't work, doesn't do what's needed to keep the device attached to the case. MY FIX is a pair of short strips of hook-and-loop fasteners (Velcro) in the right location, and I'm good with it like this. There's a slight bulge, but I'm living with that. If Samsung had done this instead of the useless magnet attachments, I would be able to give this 4-5 stars. With my Velcro fix, I'm upgrading my rating from one star to two.

Samsung Could Do This Fix

I looked for a case for the Galaxy Tab A with S pen. Very narrow search, since several generic designs didn't provide for access to the pen. I decided to focus solely on Samsung, since they were the creators of this device. Surely they would be the answer for a proper fit. Also wanted something slender and sophisticated. Samsung got slender and sophisticated right, but functional gets a failing grade. The "magnetic attachment" is absolutely useless, as in doesn't work, doesn't do what's needed to keep the device attached to the case. The tablet might as well be wrapped in a one-dollar piece of canvas. There's no safety against it sliding out and landing on the concrete. But I like the slender appearance, so I'm gonna buy some narrow black elastic and make a strap to hold it in this case. Very second rate. Be aware and only buy this if you're prepared to create your own fix.

Samsung could do much better.

This case is a wonderful edition & a must have for any owner 8 inch Galaxy Tab A. Beautifully designed to snap on & off of the Galaxy Tab A while offering a reasonable amount of protection but adds very little to the original size & weight of the device all while the magnetic clasps will keep it securely closed & provides many viewing/standing angles. Lastly the canvas material allows you to keep a firm grip on your device & doesn't look half bad either. Easily the best low profile case or cover I've ever owned for any device. A true must have.

Beautifully Designed, easily installed & removed yet very secure

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my Samsung Cover. The cover snaps on very securely and it has several positions to adjust the viewing angle of the tablet. The tablet is put to sleep mode when the cover is closed. I would recommend this product. Very satisfied.

Excellent features

This is the best tablet I have ever used. I love everything about it. The speed, the ease of using it, the storage space....everything. I will be a lifelong Samsung buyer.

The best tablet

I received the Galaxy Tab A as a gift and I immediately went online with Samsung to order a protective cover. I wanted something that was classy, yet functional and this product meets both criteria. My tablet is the smoky black and this titanium cover is a perfect compliment. Very pleased with this cover.

This cover is awesome for my galaxy  Tab A 9.7 it snaps in so you don't have to worry about it slipping out of the cover as well as a perfect fit, I just love it would most definitely recommend this cover.

Terrific cover!

Very happy with the cover once I received it...love how it snaps onto the tabs on the back of the tablet for no slipping or readjusting like other cases. Overall I love the feel and the quality of the case.

Good quality cover...

Very happy with my Galaxy tab A cover. The fit and finish is excellent. The cover snaps into the back of the tablet. It does add some weight but it doesn't bother me. It did take Samsung 3 months for me to get this tablet because of a backorder issue which was disappointing. Overall I'm very happy with this product.

I liked the wine color, it's not so boring.
I tried after market covers none work as well as this OEM cover. Magnetic areas actually are strong and hold case in position. 
Sleep function works good.
Case protects the tab nicely.

Tablet cover is lightweight but does a wonderful job protecting my tablet...

I'm satisfied with the case's functionality, but the case gets dirty very easily and I don't know of a way to clean it.

It's fine, but you can't use a stylus or attach a keyboard so typing on it can be frustrating.

Amazing technology

At first, I could not get the little tabs on the inside of the case to snap securely into the holes on the back of the tablet. I was pushing and pushing, but although the tabs were in the holes, they wouldn't "snap" and stay in. I thought "I'm going to crack the screen if I push much harder!" Frustrated beyond words, I was ready to write a poor review (having seen other reviewers say they couldn't get theirs to go in either). But I decided to read through some of the positive reviews first. After reading, I thought "OK, I must be doing something wrong." I tried again, pressing a bit harder, one finger on the tablet and one on the back of the case, pushing on the exact spot where the tablet holes and the case tabs meet (like a sandwich between my fingers). Voila! It snapped in. I don't know what I was doing wrong before, but I'm glad I tried again. Once in, I held the case face down, with the tablet dangling, and it did not fall out. Secure!
Now that I have it working, it seems like a good case to me. It props up in all the ways shown in the photos, and so far it hasn't slipped. Magnet closure nice and secure. It did take six weeks to get here though, which is kind of ridiculous.

Finally got it to snap into the tabs on the Tablet!

I would tell Customers to purchase this cover. Its priced good, it is well made and functional. It cradles my tab A perfectly. Like a glove.

I love the new Galaxy tab A, I like the placement of the buttons I had the tab pro 10.0 before I love it but the tab A is way better it's slimmer lighter and faster. I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a tablet great job Samsung

I love the Galaxy tab A

I initially purchased a cover recommended by Best Buy that came with a keyboard and mouse. Big mistake, well, at least with the cover. Samsung's design of the Tab A only makes it function with their cover. No harm, no foul. The keyboard and mouse were worth the money I spent.

The only complaints about the cover are that it does not have a pen holder nor does it have a pocket in the cover where I can place paper. The other "complaint", if one can call it that, is that it doesn't seem sturdy enough to protect the device if I were to drop it.

I love this product!

This cover works great when using in landscape as an easel. I wish there were a way to use it in portrait. It is a bit awkward to hold it or try to take pictures or small films with it as the front cover covers the camera if you flip it back

My protector!

I like this cover, don't get me wrong... It does all the things you expect a cover to do... However, it is slippery... I have dropped the tablet cause it slips out of my hand... The Leather cover I have on another tablet does not slip out of my hands.
