Performs great after years of usage
I've been using the 980 500gb SSD for over 4 years now as my primary drive and throughout many reads and writes it's gone through, it is still holding up very reliably. It's continued to run plenty fast enough. I would say going forward into 2026 and beyond, you will want at least a 1tb drive minimum.

Good product, outdated. Recommend finding a newer1
This is a very good SSD, but it is slightly outdated. It has been working for years for me and there's been no issues and worked across multiple of my computers with little to no issue, I can't complain about 1tb considering that's what i bought. It runs cool and my software and games load pretty fast.

Fasted drive ever!
The lighting fast performance from the 980 increased the startup of my computer, the transfer speed from one drive to another, and the opening of programs. I was so impressed by the first one, I grabbed two more! I'm able to do video editing, gaming, and even just simple browsing so much faster now. The reliability is unmatched as well as I've had no issues with the drive or the Samsung Magic app, which helps with capacity and compatibility. The interface is easy to use as well!

Noticeably Faster & Extremely Reliable
I've had the Samsung 980 1TB NVMe SSD for a few years now, and I have zero complaints. The upgrade made my entire system noticeably faster-from boot times to loading apps and games. FANSTATIC reliability!!
I have owned this product for several years, and I can attest to its exceptional durability and performance. My software currently indicates a 95% health status. I am providing this feedback in the earnest hope that I can replace it with a new Samsung SSD, as I am a dedicated Samsung enthusiast. Best-In-Class Storage Drive
Best drive I've ever used. Speeds and reliability beats out everything in its class. Switching from a sata SSD or HDD as your boot drive to an NVMe M.2 is a must, and for me, Samsung's have been the fastest and most stable.

Samsung 980 Pro
My experience with the Samsung 980 Pro nVME drive has been excellent. Since updating the firmware to the latest release it has been rock solid in terms of reliability. The speed has been more than sufficient for my needs and I can recommend it for both gamers and professionals. I have the 1TB model but it comes in various capacities, including 2TB and 4TB. The 980 Pro is a Gen 4X4 PCIE nVME drive but is compatible with both Gen 3 and 5 interfaces.

Great features
This drive is by far the fastest drive I have ever used. Not only that, it doesn't get hot at all. Running this in an external 80Gbps enclosure for file backup and sync, the drive gets warm, at best, and the enclosure fan does not even come on.

Love the performance and reliability

Great product!
Simply amazed. Its size is small and the performance is bar none. Easy to install and no sound plus reduced heat. Freed up alot of space allowing cooler airflow to my GPU. reducing temperatures allowing higher clock speeds. Highly recommended.

Gamers workhorse storage
This is my go to game drive for my at home desktop. It made an noticeable difference in read/write scenarios as well as load times. Everything is faster on samsung compared to bigger name brands.

Samsung is King!
It is a great storage device for my Adobe LrC Catalogs. Super fast and no hick ups. It works great with my Gigabyte Z690 motherboard. It's 500GB but its enough for my Catalogs.
