Best Marine Binoculars that I have owned or used. Fabulous field of view and bright. Compass is a plus and accurate. The weight actually adds to the stability but I will admit I was skeptical. I wish one of my friends had these to try as I would have bought them earlier. They seem rugged and time will tell. Worth the money if you compare what you get for less(you get what you pay for). I'll be handing these to my other boating friends to make them jealous!

Amazing quality! I bought these primarily to be used on our sailboat.

If you spend a lot of time at sea, it’s worth every PENNY to have the right tool when you need it most, especially when it comes to navigational safety.

Very pleased to find these binoculars as a navigational backup should my electronics ever fail. The optics are awesome, and the compass and reticle are very useful.

I purchased a pair of Steiner 7X50 marine binoculars back in about 2005 while living on St Croix in the USVI. An excellent pair of binoculars that cost me around $950. Over the years I have totally enjoyed the clarity of any images I ever looked at on land, or at sea. About eighteen months ago, during the annual pilgrimage of the Humpback Whales off the norther coast of the Dominican Republic I noticed that my binoculars were getting quite foggy. I initially thought it was simply residue on the lenses. It turned out to be the spreading foggy look was happening inside the binoculars. About four months ago I finally wrote to Steiner inquiring whether I might be able to send my binoculars in for servicing, fully expecting to pay for any repairs after such a long time. Steiner customer service replied to my inquiry with instructions on how to return my binoculars for service along with a shipping label. They said once they received the binoculars and had a chance to look at them that they would contact me with cost of repairs. A couple months later I received a second message stating that my binoculars were being shipped back. They never mentioned anything about repair cost. Imagine my total shock when I opened the package they sent...a brand new pair of the Steiner Commander 7X50 binouclars with compass at NO CHARGE TO ME. Thank you Steiner, not only do you make incredible products but you stand behind them with an iron clad warranty.

I sent my old Steiner Commander for maintenance since I had been using it for years while sailing and the batteries were dead and apparently had leaked. What a surprise! a couple of weeks later I received a brand new one. That is STEINER quality and service!!!

One of the best companies I've ever dealt with, customer service is outstanding. And product is excellent. I have dealt with very large companies well-known with very poor customer service and product compared to Steiner. Thumbs-up salute, to Steiner .

These binoculars are not cheap, but you are getting what you are paying for. The optics are superb, and the compass works very well. I highly recommend these, and am glad I spent the money.

The quality of this set of binoculars is beyond what I expected. The clarity is amazing. The lens coatings are something you can't even imagine. They say they resist fingerprints, normally I would never touch the lens but I had to try it out. They feel oddly slick weird feeling even but they left no trace of a fingerprint. I'm glad to have a binocular that will last as long as I do and beyond.

I had an old pair of Commsnders with a compass. They got knocked over and as a result, the compass broke off. I sent them in for repair ($100) and shortly thereafter received a brand new pair of Commanders. I mean really, you just can’t beat that customer service!

I thought when I purchased these I was buying the best from a company that would stand behind their product. WRONG! My set over the years has lost the resiliency in the cover, optics and the compass. The cover has turned very nasty, sticky and corroded. These were kept in a case abord a vessel for 2 years then kept in my conditioned home. The Compass went out fairly early in its life. I returned for a repair only to be told they couldn't be repaired. All I wanted was the compass fixed. Then they suggested a discount repurchase "Non Negotiable" for around a $1000.00 which I can purchase online for about the same price. No Life time warranty on these folks. Thanks but no thanks Steiner. There is a lot better competition out there at far better pricing. You get what you pay for? Not always, sometime we want to pay more to just feel confident. This company really let me down.

I bought this last spring and used it for the season. Clearest vision I've had with binoculars. Rugged and simple.

Owned a pair of Commanders with electronic compass for the last 20 years which have been outstanding binoculars; bright crisp clear optics in a durable package. After 20 year of use, had an issue with the compass for which they replaced with a brand new pair of Commander 7x50c! The new pair is even better. Purchase with confidence. Highly recommended

Bought my Commander 7x50c binoculars a short time ago and discovered that the Clic-Lok didn't securely engage so sent them in for a look. Less than a week later had a new pair with all accessories delivered to my door. As for the binoculars themselves, I couldn't be happier with anything about them; superior quality everything. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but I've always said that if you pay a higher price for what you really want/need, it only hurts once, but if you pay a lower price for an inferior product, it hurts every time you think about it.

This is my second Steiner Commander; I bought the first some time in the 1990s. I have found their products to be reliable and long lasting. In addition, their service is outstanding.
