Purchased an extra camera for the NVK-460 system. The camera was simple to set up, I just plugged it in and the system immediately recognized it. Installation is a bit of an issue. It would be easier if the base was completely removable from the camera. As it is, the camera hangs down on the wire while you are attaching the base. I worried a bit about dropping it while attaching the base. Other than that, I love this little camera.

we bought these system about 6 weeks ago, and we didn't have the chance to install it since we went out of state for vacations. we installed the 3rd week after purchase. after having it for 2 weeks we checked the recordings to see who was trespassing our property and when we looked at the recording the quality was so poor even frozen at some parts of the recording. the view quality is horrible. i would like to return this and get a 1080p system since this is 720p. the seller at best buy told us it wasn't much of a difference in quality recording and now since the 15 days return policy expired we cant do nothing about with them. they told us to contact SWANN. so i will do contact them and see what they say. please, don't get this model. it sucks. go for a 1080p.

Rugged build quality, easy setup and great value all add up to one terrific product! The manuals were well-written and were easy to follow. The NVR and cameras took only a few minutes to install and the kit included every cable and fastener you could ever need - Ethernet cables, HDMI cable, etc. The Swann App for iPad and iPhone work flawlessly and is somewhat addictive lol. Finally my family has peace of mind knowing we have 24/7 monitoring and theft deterrence.

I wanted a system that was wireless, but did not use up all of my broadband. This system can be run off-line, which is exactly what I wanted. The set up was easy, as far as connections. I needed a little help from tech support to get it running properly, and the support was great!

Easy setup for the most part, getting the system & cameras on my network going through the OSD setup was very simple. The range of the cameras however are less than desirable. I did have to go out and purchase a Wi-Fi extender and put it in the room next to the camera outside (brick wall. Without it there was no recording period. Now that I have that in place and I'm getting 4+ bars via WiFi on both cameras its a great product! I set it to record 24x7, playback is smooth plus the audio is a bonus.

After running some wire for outlets outside on my house was the most time consuming part of this project. Mounting the cameras is a no brainer. Once completed and plugged in the cameras the system was easy to get up and running. Just follow the Wizard. Night vision was great and daylight was awesome. I will be interested to see how the cameras work in - degree temps in South Dakota. Being mounted close and under over hangs on the house might help. I am already thinking of adding one or two more cameras. Swann did a bang up job on this unit. No need for a simple handyman to hire out someone to install the unit. Having a power outlet to supply the cameras is the only issue you need to be aware of before purchasing or you will be like me and run wire and outlets. I now have more outlets for Christmas lights on the house. I have downloaded the app for remote access but no time to get it working yet.

I purchased this system through amazon. When it arrived everything was intact. I sat down and read through the instructions first . I did this because after reading some of the mixed reviews before my purchase, I was not really sure about this product . During my setup I kind of did things backwards. I checked the cameras before I mounted them. they were good. I did the phone application for android (galaxy s5 ) setup first . The process took me about 15 min from app download to app setup. very simple. if you are going to be viewing your cameras away from your home . office or business, I would recommend the UID setup process, its just a matter of scanning a QR code and everything is done for you. I will leave my setup like this all the time . Even at home.it takes a few extras seconds to connect but the picture quality and connection were good even while was viewing away from my home. It keeps you from having to shuffle back and forth between setups . if the UID code does not work. take a pic of the UID scan on the router itself and manually input the code . I had to do this but it worked fine afterwards. I then downloaded SWANN view Pro Plus for PC and repeated the process on my microsoft surface 3 running Windows 10. Even though I am still kind of fumbling around in WIN10 the setup for me was just as easy as my mobile phone and event free.

First up I was surprised at how everything connected without any problems. Cameras have a clear picture, day and night. I saw a review about poor night vision, but mine has no problems and everything (except see below) works as it should.

Just finished installing and setting up my cameras took a little longer than expected but easy enough to do. My phone setup was quite simple. Haven't yet done the setup on my computer, . Not sure how yet to save the video onto my computer or how to delete the footage that I don't want but I'm sure I will figure it out. Would love to get a couple more cameras but not sure where to get them. Will give more feedback after a couple of weeks.

All of the features I was looking for in a home security unit. Everything worked straight out of the box. Easy to set up. Reasonable (but not great wi-fi distance. Easy to view on Mac/PC/iOS etc. Now to add the extra cameras...

This product kit is great for a smaller home. A little tough to set up, especially with ATT U-Verse, but after a little tinkering and help from tech support, all is well in surveillance land. Having to input with a mouse sucks by the way.
