A good buy

Excellent filter for the money! Used it to photograph our Christmas tree and the pictures were stunning. I really like the fact that the filter rotates - a very useful feature. I recommend this one.

Poor quality

To be used on my nex 5n Flimsy construction with play on the dual rotating bezel. Lettering and numbers are for a reason faded as if it is used.... Does the work though

wedding photography

I use the star filter when I shoot weddings. I use it on my ring shots . I shoot the wedding boquet with the couples hand over the flowers, showing the rings. I shoot several shots at different angles to bring out the star effect. Works great!

Does what it should do

This filter does exactly what it should do. It will cause a bit of negative quality on the image where the star isn't making an effect, so for pictures where clarity down to the pixel is imperative this filter isn't a good choice. The sacrifice will be noticeable if you zoom in, but viewed at a normal size it won't be a problem. I don't have a problem with using it generally.
