Incredibly versatile lens. Got this instead of the kit lens for my ZV-E10 and almost never take it off. The low light shots are fantastic and love having a programmable button to switch from aperture ring to manual focus. Lens should be priced closer to double for the quality.

G2 version produces great image quality better than the G1 version which I owned it when it was released in 2018 (images lacked some character). Better color and bokeh closer to GM.

The autofocus does seem to be more responsive. The lens is very quiet and feels a little lighter on my camera. I have not tested or programmed the button and I feel that I could use that (if it works) to auto focus with the button while the camera is set to manual focus. Either way I am very happy with the lens.

I used and abused the first generation of this lens so when I saw there was a G2, I was happy to upgrade. It's just as amazing as the first and everything I really need out of a lens. The 2.8 fstop works for me in most lighting situations. The 28-70 focal length makes it easy to get plenty of diverse angles with a quick zoom in or out. It's quick to focus and hardly ever misses. I photograph a lot of weddings and proposals so this is essential. I can't praise this lens enough. From travel photography, videography, and client work, this is an incredibly well rounded lens.

The lens is sharp and the bokeh is much better than first generation, which gives a good overall atmosphere. It's lighter than first generation as well. Go for g2 tamron than sigma 24-70

Great lens. Tamron doing better and better, thanks. I have Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8, 70-180mm f/2.8, now add 28-75mm f/2.8, they all did very well. Great value for people who can't afford Sony GM lenses. I Hope Tamron will make an 85mm prime lens at f/1.4 with 67mm filter ??

This is a great lens. I paired it with my new Sony A7IV and the world is tack sharp. You don't have to take my word for it. Dozens of youtube reviewers agree with me. And yes, I watched them all. I've had the lens just over a month. No issues. Plenty of wintry pics under my belt: feral cats, my doggo, iced trees, snowy branches, hoarfrost, more feral cats, The hickory tree 1300 feet away from my house, wild turkeys, frozen swamps around the corner, deer and more deer, cars coming up my rural road. . I've video'ed local meetings, land preservation and property development presentations. This lens just works and its price is fantastic. I love it.

This is my second tamron lens which replaced all my existing gears. I fulfilled with this one lens for all my needs from wide landscape to standard zoom.. This is a great lens for photo or video the quality is just great, and the autofocus on it, works almost as good as any Sony lens no complaints whatsoever. I like this lens so much That I purchase the 17-18 mm so that I can have the killer combo.

I shot all Sony lenses until I got this lens, and it is simply great. It's very sharp out to the corners at 2.8, and critically sharp throughout down to f11, after thay diffraction sets in. AF is slightly slower than my Sony lenses, but it's not a big deal. My only nit is that it doesn't have an Af on-off switch on it. For best results, get a B+W nano coated UV to go with it. I'm shooting it on Sony A7RIII bodies.
