The scanner is nice and very fast. It scans documents very well but the quality is disappointing if there are photos on the page. The photos are very grainy, even with the higher dpi.

It comes with set up CDs. It?s more of a large office scanner than an at home with a laptop machine. HP allowed me to return it and got my money back. Great customer service!

Two of us tried to install a ScanJet Pro 2500 f1 yesterday on two different iMacs. The driver could not find the scanner and kept us running in a loop impossible to exit. The troubleshooting page offered nothing better than checking to make sure the unit was plugged in. Contact Support is set up to run customers in circles that keep them from talking to an employee. I don't hear from a human at HP willing to make this work within 24 hours, I'm off this company for life.

Works better than my 20 year old HP scanner ever thought about working. Quiet, very clean copies and can (most of the time) create a searchable PDF document. When turned on after a long down time, you have to wait 2-3 minutes before the accompanying software can find the scanner. Longer than the old scanner took to warm up the lamp. Don't get in hurry. It is worth the wait.

The HP ScanJet Pro 2500 f1 scanner is an excelent product. Great features. Very easy to use. Reasonably priced. It is exactly what I was looking for in a scanner for my office/study at home.

We purchased this scanner for a small billing office. We regularly scan jobs anywhere from 1 - 40 pages as well as checks. This scanner is quick, it fits right under our desk, it works well with few hiccups and we feel that we got a great deal. Would happily recommend to another office with similar scanning needs.

The service was really great with a price match. Installation was very easy but not because of the install sheet provided. A good installation instruction would have made things a lot easier with no guessing. The job got done without to many problems. Machine works great both flat bed and auto feed. Had a little trouble opening the cover to get to the flat bed. Normal is opening from the bottom end of the scanner. Took several tries before I learned that it opened from the left side. After that everything worked perfectly.

Produces excellent scans of documents in .pdf or .jpg format to a named file or to the printer. Software is simple to understand. Scan only takes seconds. Much improved over previous HP scanners.

The HP ScanJet Pro 2500 f1 Flatbed Scanner saves a PDF file size, FIVE times that of my last 10 year old scanner. I have just been told by HP Technical support the Auto Document Feeded (ADF) saves PDF files larger than when using the flatbed scanner. Apparently this information is available on HP Support. One might ask why the ADF scans differently to the flatbed on the same device. As I have said I would not recommend the HP ScanJet Pro 2500 f1 Flatbed Scanner for this very reason, which is a shame as everything else appears to be adequate.

The Scanjet G3010 which this scanner replaced had a simple one button to push and have the scan sent directly to my printer. A simple copy machine! The 2500 f1 requires me to save the scan and then go to the saved scan file and print the item.

Product performs as expected, which is extremely well, and is very fast. A future enhancement for this device would be a network port (ethernet). That way multiple home computers would be able to access it.

The document feeder did an excellent job of feeding and scanning to pdf some very old legal (11 by 14) documents. The PDF's printed out well on 11 by 14 paper. Scanning some old black & white photos were excellent and fast,
