Great camera lousy hinge

I love the depth of field, the ability to place the camera flat or hinge it over my laptop, and it works right away---great drivers, obviously. BUT the hinge is poorly attached, and it's so wobbly. I've already dropped it several times, and fear it won't last. There should be a way to tighten the hinge-mechanism to the body of the webcam, but there isn't, so I'm stuffing cloth, wadding kleenex---silly workarounds that don't really work.
