Have two of these monitors, served me well so far. One of the panels did die, chalk that down to a unit defect.

Overall it's a great monitor. But, only issue is it's too bright(backlit leaking?), especially in dark room, or night night time and it's the reason of 4 stars. Also, 34" ultrawide is slight shorter than I expected. So, I'm going for 38" ultrawide.

Bought two 34WL850-W for home-based business. Installation was very simple and product is fantastic for productivity. Impressed with color quality. Would recommend this unit for users looking to get beyond small monitor use.

I have had this monitor for 2 months and it is a bit frustrating. 1. The 21:19 aspect ratio doesn't translate very well, even with the supplied Windows 10 drivers as I end up with squashed text. 2. I used the screen with multiple laptops and the screen cannot auto sync on the ports to select which laptop is active. 3. The Joy stick sucks and is clumsy. 4. The screen comes with a separate power pact to make it work. This is a negative as I have to find a place to put it. My next 34" screen will not be an LG.

Monitor was mostly great for about 6 months. Had vibrant colors and great refresh rates. It did run really hot and had light would bleed around the edges. However the panel died after about 6 months. Thanks to another website tricking me into buying it used I get no warranty coverage. So even though this monitor has only been on the market for about a year they wont fix the panel. I think a panel at that price should work for at least a year and if not the manufacturer should repair it regardless of where or how it was purchased.

I bought this a few weeks ago and I’m enjoying this monitor immensely. And it compliments my LG Gram 17” laptop with Thunderbolt 3 very nicely too. I noticed one reviewer stating he felt ripped off because there were no built-in speakers in this monitor as advertised. Well, — HE WAS WRONG! At initial glance I was concerned that he might have been right, except I was puzzled because monitors usually don’t have an “audio” output for headphones plugin on the back of a monitor unless there are speakers built-in also. And yet, I could not find an audio input jack anywhere. THE ANSWER: The audio input (and the built-in speakers) only come alive if you connect this Ultra-Wide monitor to a PC or laptop that also supports the latest HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 protocols and the PC must be capable of sending the audio and video through the same HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 cable. (You CANNOT simply run a mini-headphone audio cable from your PC and plug it into that headphone jack in the back of the monitor because that is an audio OUTPUT, — NOT an audio INPUT. There IS NO separate audio input jack anywhere on this monitor, period. The ONLY WAY to get any audio into, and then out again through the built in speakers is through the HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 cables. And for small speakers, they sure sound BIG. I even played a Blu-ray movie from my laptop that was connected to the LG 34” Ultra-Wide Monitor with the Thunderbolt 3 cable (and the cable IS INCLUDED WITH THE MONITOR). Initially, no audio. So I pressed up on the hidden toggle joystick located directly front-center underneath the LG logo and a little menu popped up on the screen. I toggled to SETTINGS, then AUDIO. Lo and behold, a sliding volume bar appears, and guess what? It was set to zero. So I steered the toggle underneath the monitor towards to the volume slider bar, and then I leaned the toggle joystick. to the right and increased the volume from zero up to 50. (The max is 100), and I instantly jumped out of my skin. The audio filled the whole room, I was totally amazed. Feeling the speaker grills underneath the monitor, the left and right channel speaker grills are approx. 5 inches wide - EACH, and they sounded beautiful, —just like high quality Bose speakers. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased. While in the monitor’s audio settings, enable or turn on the MaxxAudio feature, and then kick back and enjoy. Whoever reads this review needs to understand that there are different versions of this Ultra-Wide monitor offered, and I bought the LG 34WL850-W 34 inch 21: 9 UltraWide QHD Nano IPS Monitor with Thunderbolt 3, — so I cannot speak for the the audio quality on the less expensive models. I think this model is their top-of-the-line. I’m very pleased with this purchase. And it arrived from Amazon double-boxed and well protected. BEWARE: Amazon MISLEADS potential buyers by posting underneath the product, under the caption: “Frequently bought together”, it shows this monitor + Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) Cable (0.8m) $39.00. I took the bait and bought the cable too, only to discover during the unpacking of the monitor that the exact SAME CABLE IS INCLUDED WITH THIS MONITOR, plus a DisplayPort Cable too. I ended up returning the extra Thunderbolt 3 cable I purchased because the monitor includes a Thunderbolt 3 cable anyway.
