Take your live streaming and recording to the next level with the Matrox Monarch HD, a durable and high-quality HDMI input/output device. Designed for simultaneous live streaming and recording, this innovative device allows you to broadcast live events while also recording master versions for post-production or storage.
The Monarch HD's streaming and recording functions operate independently, ensuring that your recording quality remains unaffected by streaming bandwidth. This also allows for seamless operation of record controls without disturbing your live streaming.
This advanced device generates RTSP/RTMP compliant H.264 streams from any HDMI source, thanks to its built-in encoder and multi-tap 10-bit scaler and de-interlacer. It records live streams as H.264 MP4 files with two channels of embedded AAC audio, which can be saved to an optional SD card, USB drive, or network-mapped drive.
The Monarch HD is perfect for multi-user environments, as network-mapped drives allow multiple users to access the recorded footage. It offers streaming bitrates of up to 20Mbps and recording bitrates of up to 30Mbps. You can stream to your own server or popular CDNs like YouTube, and control operational details like bitrates and resolution via the web-application, Command Center.
With an Ethernet connection from Monarch HD to a router, you can access the Command Center on any device - phone, tablet, or computer. Manage up to four Monarch HD units simultaneously from the Command Center, and control stream and record start/stop via push buttons on the front panel.
Operating on a Linux O/S, the Monarch HD is not vulnerable to automatic updates or unscheduled exchanges with third-party servers. It's a reliable solution for reaching your audience, whether you're streaming to popular CDNs like YouTube Live, Facebook Live, and Ustream, Adobe Flash or Wowza Media servers, or directly to a device on a LAN.
As a certified "Works with Wowza" encoder, the Monarch HD offers enhanced integration with the Wowza streaming engine. It also supports XML files generated for use with Flash Live Media Encoder, making it easy to connect to various services.
Whether you're targeting a large audience or a select few using software-based players like VideoLAN's VLC Player, the Matrox Monarch HD is up to the task, making it an essential tool for high-quality live streaming and recording.
