lots of light here in high desert and really adds to my 100-400 for birds of prey shots...just what I expected...had to wait 3 weeks before I used it but not disappointed one bit.

With the lens design requirements of digital photography Olympus has produced a tele extender which in my opinion outperforms the apo extenders designed for film. Olympus never uses the term Apo but the transparency and color fidelity of the 1.4 tele extender are superb. It is a worthy addition to the very finest lenses, especially if you can stop down two stops.

It appears to me that the parameters of lens design for digital photography have produced a tele convertor that out performs apo designs for film. If you can tolerate stopping down not one but two stops the results are just extraordinary. A worthy addition to the highest performance four thirds lenses. Olympus never uses the term apo to describe their lenses, but the color fidelity and resolution remains at the highest Olympus standard when you stop down a total of two stops.

If you can stop down one extra stop the image quality will meet the expectations of a perfectionist.

The extra length is worth it, but it seems to slow the auto focus a bit

I use the EC14 with my 70-300mm and 50-200mm SWD for wildlife as well as macro work. The additional power with only one F/stop loss is great. No loss of IQ that I can see. I highly recommend it.

Same high quality as Olympus lenses. The perfect companion to the 50-200SWD. It only costs you one stop and the VF image, especially in the E-3, is bright and sharp. The image quality is superb. I've even used it with the 70-300 with fine results, even hand-held with IS enabled. A bit pricey, but worth it.

It's great with 50-200 SWD, equiv 140-560 with fast AF !

The 1.4 x provides a small form factor, costs only one stop of light and provides just enough extra reach in most situations. Paired with my 50-200 lens it's a great addition.

Just perfect if you're trying to keep your gear down to a minimum (i.e. travelling)

Great photos, but the autofocus is a little slow in responding.
