Its ability to "contort"and no cross struts lets you set the tripod very close to the ground. 3 axis for adjustment allows more precise set up.

Very well designed and built as you would expect from Bogen/Manfrotto products. The tripod is very stable at all positions and the quick 4 position independent leg settings are excellent. I bought this pod to use for my urban exploration photography and light travel so i wanted something small, light weight and yet well built and stable. This is it. My only wish is that the center tube would be able to unscrew into two sections so that I could get the tripod down very low if needed. The center tube can be inverted to mount your camera underneath but upside down. Very good basic tripod.

I resisted a tripod for a long time as I was not doing photography that required one. This tripod was highly recommended to me and I'll certainly recommend it to others. It's easy to setup and light enough to transport along with my other gear.

This is the best bang for the buck for a beginner's tripod. It feels very sturdy when in use. Not too heavy but it's pretty light for aluminum (vs $$$ for carbon fiber) Couldn't be happier!

Great tripod for the money. It's solidly built, extremely flexible and stable. My only (very, very minor) concern is that it's a bit heavy - but then again, stability requires some weight! Perfect tripod for a small(ish) price.

Lightweight and sturdy. Smooth action opening/closing the legs. Wonderful build quality, solid as a rock, couldn't be happier.

Built on the same design as the 190XB but with thumb-screw leg locks and no leg warmers.
