Everything worked as described, longer battery life, what a great product. The vertical grip allows you to take a lot of pictures very fast with all the functions at your finger tips.

This is graet for those verticle shoots with the extra shuttler controls on the grip. The other thing I like is how it feels in your hand, very comfortable.

I use this on my rebel t1i. I carry an extra single battery to switch out when this runs flat, cos nothing is more frustrating than a dead battery. However it takes a lot of shooting to drain the batteries

I'm an ameteur, and when I bought my camera, I wanted whatever I thought I (might) need....some things you just don't need at first. Haven't used it, but still may at some point. Just thought that info might help fellow ameteurs. Can't recommend something I haven't used. I only rated it low because I have not, and could not tell you whether it's good or not.... This thing just said I had to rate it...maybe adding another rating option would be good... Something like I've NEVER USED it.

Having larger hands holding a smaller camera with a heavy lens is nearly impossible and sometimes even painful from hand cramps. A battery grip will help for that as well as taking vertical pictures. For me it is also easier to carry when going strapless.

All in all an essential accessory for my Rebel XSI, very ergonomic and perfect when shooting in portrait format. It also has the added affect of making the camera more professional looking and I never take it off. The battery capacity is a huge upgrade but I would advise to never screw the battery grip too tight to the body or it will be almost impossible to remove. Canon quality all the way.

Makes any camera fill more comfortable to hold, it also balances the camera quite well. Not have having to worry about power failure is a big plus.

Used this during my 2-week trip to Vegas - I must say it makes taking portrait photographs a lot more comfortable.... so much so that I find myself taking more pictures in the portrait position than the landscape position! Battery life is unbelievable too! Out of 1,700 plus shots, I only had to recharge the 2 batteries in the grip once in the entire trip. The only downside is the grip can get hard on the shoulder or neck from carrying the camera...

Used the BG-E5 in Las Vegas, NV for my 2-week vacation... I must say I find myself taking pictures in the portrait position a lot more often and a lot more comfortably... no more cocking your elbow out and twisting your hand! In fact, in even helps out steady my shots by allowing me to use my elbow against my body like a tripod. Out of 1,700 plus shots, I only had to recharge the 2 batteries in the grip once. The only downside is it can get hard on your shoulder (or neck, depending on how you carry your camera)

Wow. Seems like I can shoot forever. I Have a couple of these so I always always have a fresh one ready to go. The portrait buttons are great and east to use. Works as a great handle and very strong, not flimsy at all.

This battery grip balances out the camera just right. I went to a race and ran through an 8G Class 6 memory card over 4 days, and still haven't had to recharge batteries. Excellent product.

More expensive than the OEM versions but definitely worth the expenditure if you are planning to attach a quick connect plate because you are doing most of your shooting from a tripod. The time saved exchanging batteries is invaluable and the grip offers definite advantages in handling when shooting without tripod, especially for vertical shots. Everything as it should be right out of the box - no superglueing of rubber components here. I might get different make RCs, lenses, batteries, etc. but with the camera and the grip I never monkey around; nothing beats the original fit!

Found grip very easy to install and remove. Battery compartment easily accessible and works nicely with either one battery or two. Adds additional comfort to holding the camera. Great when working with larger lenses.

I use this product two times a week and shoot about 1000 pics, and doin't have to charge to about 1600 pics. The grip is nice,And it looks more pro. The balance with short lens is perfect,This is a great investment if you plan on shooting a lot of pics.

The grip adds versatility with the added shutter release. In addition with the second battery, gives more shooting time.

I was very hesitant to purchase the BG-E5 for my XSI, even with the many recommendations on the hand grip. One person said it "transforms" the camera, which it definately does in a great way! The grip makes the XSI more comfortable to hold as it adds mild weight and length to the camera. No more awkward vertical shots as well! I highly recommend it to anyone with an XS/XSI. Don't hesitate. Just buy one! You won't regret the investment.

Balances the camera weight w/ heavy lenses, looks impressive, extends battery life x2, vertical release, great for traveling & also for portraits (vertical control). Awesome accessory! Lives permanently on my camera, wouldn't go w/out it.

Really like the way it adds additional balance to the Rebel T1i, especially with longer lenses. Also enjoy the security of being able to use AAA bateries in a pinch.

I had some doubts about this grip because I thought it might make my camera look odd. But, it looks more professional, simply because it's much bigger now. But the real reason I bought it was for a better grip on my camera. The Rebel is small for good reasons, but I found it to be too small. Having the battery grip allows me to hold the camera more solidly and steadily. The great feature that stands out is having a shutter button when shooting vertically. Now my hand doesn't have to awkwardly reach over to fire the shutter button on the camera.

The solid construction and the material used to produce this product is very good and it should last allot longer that the generic products. I compared this battery grip to the generic brands. I have no interest in replacing the battery grip in 5 years. The solid construction is a very noticeable with the Cannon battery grip. I would assure you that if accidently dropped a scratch is all you may have. The generic brands would certainly break. You don't save a dime if you have to replace the battery grip. This is an expense that you cannot pass up.

This product is great. Personally, I think it's better than the grip on the XSi, just because its a much rounder and larger grip, so it just fits easier in the hand. Battery life is outstanding. I don't know, you buy it. You'll like it.

When taking photographs especially portraits I have a better grip (more area to hold on to)when moving around. It does add on to the overall weight of the camera which gets heavy after a while but it is still worth it.

Solid, Rugged, and Useful!

To be honest, without this grip I'm not sure I'd like my Canon Rebel XSi half as much I as do. It adds weight, size (a plus for guys with even regular sized hands) and professionalism. And, on top of all of that, it makes portrait photos a breeze to take. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a Canon Rebel XSi or compatible product.
Very good and Very fun to use

The Battery Grip BG-E5 holds up to two LP-E5 battery packs or six AA Batteries to offer double-length shooting time. The vertical shutter release makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally.
The following functions are available in the vertical shooting position. Shutter-Release, Main Dial, AF Point Selection, AF/FE Lock, Index, Aperture, Exposure Compensation Button, Reduce Button
