I had big initial problems, motors starting to vibrate or jumping for nothing. Since the app available again (for so long blocked and finally re-updated by Tilta) and manually calibrated in Calibration - with motors off and camera balanced by clicking on "cal" in GYRO cal & "pan" in Zero Point - my Gravity G2x makes his job without problems.

Stay far away from this one. Ordered this gimbal on a black Friday deal and am extremely disappointed. The motors consistently cut out even though it is advertised to hold up to 8lbs. I thought maybe there was something wrong with it so I contacted support. After several days of back and forth I sent them a video of what was wrong, and they said it looked like a software problem. So I had to ship it to California on my own dime because it did not come with a return label when I received it in the mail. After a few days I get back the same gimbal I had sent; it had the slight marks from sliding my camera on and off, and some of the words slightly rubbed off on the side. Not only that, but it wasn't even fixed! Had the exact same issues as before, I don't think that is a coincidence. Support argued with me saying it's a brand new gimbal which is an obvious lie. To top it all off, the app is a beta from a long time ago that isn't even on the app store, and doesn't have an option for the g2x! I thought Tilta was a reputable brand but I guess I was wrong. You'll be much better off saving up for the Ronin.

I’ve found that my 5.6lbs camera setup is still too much for it. I’ve tried so many settings but I cannot find one that keeps the camera totally stable and doesn’t not vibrate. I often get both issues at the same time. I’ve been balancing gimbals since well before motorized gimbals existed. This is my first Tilta gimbal and I haven’t been totally satisfied. I think maybe with a smaller camera it would be great. It integrates well with the nano follow focus which is great. That’s the best part.

Great gimbal, fits the BMPCC 4k really well. Fairly easy to balance, good battery life, and it looks cool. I love the flashlight mode. The app is a little weird, I was confused at first because the G2X is not an option to pair with on the app, you have to choose the G1 which doesn't make sense, and I spent too much time googling to make sure I had the correct app. So yeah just pick the G1 on the app and you'll be good.

Had to return this because of software failure and the manufacturer not proving standard support for it. At that time I had it, there was no android app to do simple setup, only work on IOS devices(Iphone ONLY, Not ipad) actuall auto tune button didn't work

I'm use to working with full sized gimbals with many accessories attached. Which is why I was interested in the G2X as it boasts being able to hold larger more professional cameras as well as having mounting options for accessories. I went ahead and bought the dual handles as well. But after practicing with it at home and trying to get the product to work with my Sony Fs5 it just isn't practically up to the task. Yes it can be used but I wouldn't say in any real world situation for a professional shoot. I also wasn't able to really attach my follow focus well. Nor could I really use longer lenses with it like I can with my larger gimbals. Really all that it really worked well for was my smaller dslr cameras on wide angle lenses and that's it. The motors aren't as strong as I thought they would be. The materials a great made very strong. The app worked great on my iOS and actually prefer it over others. I just wish it had the goods where it really needs it to be. I tried not to give up on it too fast. I did so extensive testing with it but after the amount of time I gave it if I couldn't get it to work for my more professional application needs then I felt if I could end up getting it to work then it would probably end up being too much of a hassle once I got it in real world. I sadly had to send it back. Bummer.

- G2X Compact Handheld Gimbal System -
The Tiltamax Gravity G2X Compact Handheld Gimbal System uses the same technology as the Tiltamax Gravity 3-Axis gimbal to stabilize camera systems but in a smaller, more compact setup. With a maximum payload of up to 8 lbs, this gimbal is ideal for DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, smartphones and GoPros. The Gravity G2X features a 45 degree-angled roll motor, which gives you more room to balance longer camera setups. This angled design also allows for unobstructed viewing of your camera's monitor. The gimbal allows for full 360 degree rotation on the pan and tilt axes as well as 60 degree rotation to the left and right on the roll axis.
Four distinct operation modes are available: pan and tilt follow mode, tilt lock mode, fully stabilized mode and roll lock mode. These modes plus the ability to under sling your camera give you endless possibilities to achieve whatever shot you have in mind. The Gravity G2X is powered off of four 18650 rechargeable batteries which last up to 10 hours of operation when fully charged (batteries not included). A 14.8V DC in/output port at the base of the pan motor allows for alternative ways to power your gimbal and also provides a way to power external accessories through the gimbal itself. A 5V Mini USB port on the tilt motor allows you to easily power the motor for the upcoming Nucleus Nano remote follow focus.
The sliding quick release plate of the Gravity G2X is a standard Manfrotto plate which allows you to quickly and easily slide off of the gimbal and mount to a Manfrotto tripod in no time. Arri Standard Rosette connections on the left and right side of the gimbal allow you to mount a variety of handles and/or rosette-based accessories to the gimbal. On all of the G2X gimbal arms, a 7-11cm measuring scale makes repetitive balancing a thing of the past. Balance your camera once, remember your marks and repeat with ease each time you need to re-balance the same camera package.
Press the power button on your gimbal three times consecutively to auto calibrate the gimbal, which works to sense the camera payload and then configures the motors to your camera package's ideal operating settings. This auto-calibration quickly sets you up to be operation-ready in a few seconds but you can further customize your settings with the Tilta Assistant App. This app allows you to adjust each motor's torque, dead zone, acceleration and speed for your specific needs. It also lets you set up a wireless time-lapse mode as well as a way to control the axes of the gimbal remotely. The app also acts as a simple way to wirelessly update the firmware of your Gravity G2X.
- Nucleus-Nano: Wireless Lens Control System -
The Nucleus-Nano is a revolutionary wireless lens control system specifically designed for handheld gimbal systems. It makes it possible for a single operator to control a lens gear while simultaneously operating their gimbal. The Nano system is compatible with all DSLR, mirrorless and modified "cine-style" vintage photo lenses. The Nano is fully cross-compatible with the Nucleus-M controllers and motors.
The Nano Hand Wheel Controller has a compact knob design similar to professional follow focus hand units (the design is very similar to the Tilta Nucleus-M hand unit's focus wheel). The Nano Hand Wheel Controller has no delay. It is highly responsive, wireless and accurate. It is powered via a single 14500 rechargeable battery (which is included in the kit) and yields a 6 hour operating time. When used in conjunction with the Tiltamax Gravity G2X Compact Handheld Gimbal, simple single-handed operation is possible by mounting the controller unit to the gimbal body's rosette connection. Easily toggle between the G2X's modes and pull focus at the same time!
The Nucleus-Nano uses a brand new state of the art power-efficient miniature motor. The Nano Motor features low noise and high torque. It can perform super fast focus pulls with silent precision! The built-in 15mm rod adapter allows for flexibility and compatibility with a wide range of camera rigs and professional mounting solutions. The motor has a 5-18V input tolerance for power via a Micro USB port. This allows the motor's power to be drawn from the G2X tilt motor's 5V Micro USB output or via a P-tap to 5V Micro USB cable (sold separately).
The Nano Motor has its own built-in motor drive that communicates directly with the Nano Hand Wheel Controller. This negates the need to mount a separate MDR to your rig, allowing for a more compact camera setup and a quicker setup time. Simply set the Nano Motor and Nano Hand Wheel Controller to the same channel and you will have full control. The wireless range of both the Nano Hand Wheel Controller and Nano Motor is 300 feet!
The Nano Motor allows for automatic calibration of the lens as well as a manual calibration if you are using lenses that don't have hard end stops at close focus and infinity via the ability to set A-B limits on the Nano Hand Wheel Controller. Every motor has a 0.8 mod, which is the standard gear size for most cinema lenses. The torque of the Nucleus-Nano Motor at 5.5V is 0.65N m and at 14.8V is 1N m. The Nano Motor is also able to connect to the Nucleus-M's FIZ hand unit and hand grips, allowing for a variety of ways to control the motor as you see fit.
The kit also comes with a lightweight mounting frame for 15mm rods. The rod mounting frame is simple, reliable, strong and streamlined. Simply connect the mounting frame to your camera or together with the G2X Series Manfrotto Style Camera Quick Release Baseplate with Riser to fit your needs. Lastly, the Nano system can provide record Run/Stop functionality for numerous camera systems.
