Used Nikon WG-AS3 Water Guard for the Hot Shoe of the D700 Digital SLR when using the SB-910 or SB-900 Flashes

I own a Nikon D700 and the Nikon SB-900 flash. They are both excellent products and work beautifully together. I started having trouble with my SB-900 misfiring when shooting. I have read that after some time this is a common problem with this camera/flash combination and read a suggestion to use the Nikon water guard to help solve this issue. I bought this product with the hope that it would help solve the problem. Since I have placed it on my camera, I have not had a single misfire of my flash. I am VERY happy that it was able to solve the issue that I was having. Now, the WG-AG3 never comes off my camera when I am using my flash. The part itself is nicely constructed and fits snugly on the camera. I have never had it pop off or any other issues with it.

A friend recommended this for outdoor flash fill to keep the contact from flash to camera dry ... it works but truly not necessary. nikon should have added this to the SB-900 .. what can I say, their cheap!
