I accept blame for not noticing until too late that this bag is missing a luggage strap to put it on top of a carry on rolling bag but seriously who designs a bag this big and names it "Airport Commuter" without a key component of navigating an airport? In terms of functionality when not going through an airport it is pretty good. The front laptop compartment and smaller pocket are too shallow to be really useful for anything that isn't perfectly flat. I have relegated the bag to only being used when I am driving somewhere and need my 400mm f/2.8.

I like this bag but when fully loaded, it exceeds the airline carry on size limits by about 2". What would make this the perfect bag would be if the laptop compartment would completely unzip allowing it to be carried as a personal item. This would also decrease the size allowing a hassle free carry on situation.

I recently purchased this bag, and it is able to carry all of my camera gear, plus some! Very well built, and compact, yet large. Plus being able to fit in overhead bins on aircraft are a major plus. Thinktank are definitely are on my list of extra bags to buy!

Great size for my Nikon Z7II and 5 lenses, including a new Nikon 70-180, with room to spare.

I needed a slightly deeper backpack to hold my Nikon Z 9, yet still fit in the overhead of the small commuter planes I regularly fly in. Bingo, the Commuter is perfect. Looking forward to using it for many more trips in the years ahead!

This is my go-to for carrying a lot of stuff when a roller isn't right. It's a large backpack with enough padding for you to trust your big stuff, but which is still comfortable enough to wear for an extended period of time. Also easily fits a larger 15.6" workstation-type laptop if you need to bring one along. It's not going to be a daily driver for me, but when I need it I'm really glad I have it. The shoulder straps are excellent. You will not forget you're carrying it if it's fully loaded, but you won't be suffering either.

I've owned and used this bag for a few years now. It has held up to rough usage and being hauled through airports, in car trunks and being lain on the ground. It regularly hauls two camera bodies and several lenses including a Tamron 150-600 attached to my D850. It also holds all sorts or auxiliary equipment like cables, SSD drive, extra batteries and charger, lens blowers and clothes, spare cards and my 15" laptop and power cord/brick. I'm constantly surprised the the shoulder straps haven't torn out but they are still strongly connected. It's a good bag to carry a good load of equipment. Heavy, but highly recommended.

I have had many backpacks but this is definitely the best. Contains all my video equipment. Very comfortable handles. Build quality at the highest levels. Comfortable on the shoulders. I am very happy to have met this company! Beautiful!

I have used my Airport Commuter for many airplane trips, both domestic and international, carrying all of my underwater photo gear. Body, lenses, housing, tray, dual strobes, arms, connectors, etc. PLUS, all my chargers and extension chords, AND my laptop and iPad. It still has room for in the outer pockets for miscellaneous lights, luggage scale, keys, etc., and a water bottle. So far, I've even gotten away with treating as it as my "personal item" and still having a full-sized carry-on for my scuba gear. It's not bulky and doesn't draw attention. I load it out to more than 30 pounds and it's still comfortable to carry.

A new of years ago, I purchased a rolling bag, and while I like it, it is heavy and can be cumbersome. So, I needed something that I could and will use with more frequency and ease. The Airport Commuter is just the right fit.

I have made the right choice to buy this backpack for my camera storage. It’s very suitable and larger space to store my camera and easy for me to carry my bag and my stuff for the big event and go for traveling. Thank you for Thinktank product because concern about our needs. I am happy with this product.

I'm picky about the bags I use for my gear. I've had this bag for over a year and I'm still loving it! It's held up perfectly, no issues. I love everything about it except I do wish it had two locking cables, one for laptop area and one for camera area, so that it feels completely secure from curious hands. It fits all I need, I stuff it full, and it gets the job done. It can get really heavy, so be sure to keep that in mind if you pack it full. All in all, a great bag for everyday use and traveling (I've used it for both).

I have been lugging around two camera bags for such a long time and I have finally decided its time to just get a bigger bag. I have only used this bag a few times but I love it! The bag itself is not heavy andoffers tons of room (I can fit all my wedding day gear). It is comfortable to wear for long wedding days too. The true test will be this weekend when I fly a few provinces over to capture a wedding!

This backpack is larger than it looks. It can hold 2 DSLR/MILC bodies, lenses, accessories, etc. Lots of place to put in everything. It's deep enough for lenses to stand upright. All in all a great backpack for carrying around photo gear.

I lead bird photography tours in Ecuador and got this just before my last trip (and I'll be using it again this summer). It is the best travel pack I've ever owned. I can fit 2 FF bodies, a 100-400II, 16-35, 500mm f4, 1.4x, flash, batteries, numerous accessories (cleaning, memory cards, filters), ball head, and a 70mm macro into it, and it still will fit in an overhead bin. It also has a surprisingly good suspension and carries well. Construction is excellent and the zippers are strong and smooth sliding. In the field, I add a rain shell, snacks, first aid kit and water bottle, and it still carries well. If you travel by air with lots of gear, this is the pack for you.

Owned this bag for just over a year, love it, holds all of my gear including chargers with room to spare. Plenty of dividers to customize the layout. Even loaded down it's quite comfortable to wear. Quality is just what I would expect from Think Tank. Only one downside. Have taken this bag on 8 flights so far, 6 of them on 737's, A321, and an ERJ-175. Fit perfectly on is side in all over head bins taking up very little space, never tried under the seat. The problem was with my last 2 flights, CRJ-200. This bag WILL NOT fit in the overhead, with or without laptop. It does fit under the seat but sticks out quite a bit and takes all of your foot room. Either the flight attendants didn't notice, or didn't care, but could see this being an issue if they catch it. With many more CRJ-200 flights in my future decided to purchase the Vision 15 for these trips. Overall, perfect for road trips and flying larger aircraft. Just err on the side of caution when traveling on 50 seat or smaller regional aircraft.

I had this up to 37Lbs (camera, lenses, laptop+charger, flash and batteries, RoadTrip tripod). Weight is still weight, but it easily fit in the overhead of a 737 and the straps never cut into my shoulders like a certain "hipster" pack did. Deeper than other packs, so all but the long lenses can go "end in" vs on their sides and bodies can go in with L brackets and power grips added. So much usable volume tends to tempt you to pack more in. I think this paired with a roller case to take the heavier items will be my travel setup. Roller in the overhead and this under the seat. Built like a brick outhouse. They're not cheap, but still excellent value. Look at the quality zips, the stitching the well laid out interior. Yah I'm a fanboy

Overall it is a high quality bag. Perfect for travel. However, it is not an everyday bag and is bit clunky. It is very rigid. Sometimes I wish it was a little softer to fit into difficult spaces without damaging your equipment. I would recommend the bag

First used the Airport Commuter on a trip to St John USVI for Carnival and some personal RR. Super impressed with amount of space and comfort. Accommodated all my gear and accessories, as well as MacBook Pro 15”. Weight is distributed perfectly and plenty of padding to have it on my back throughout ATL airport and the islands. Customer for life!

Really love the design and quality of this bag. Think Tank swapped out a 7 year old bag for this one because one of the pockets was tearing. Their warranty and service is absolutely the best in the business and has made me a customer for life.

I purchased this for my up-coming wedding where I have to fly with my gear- the last time I did there was no overhead space and I nearly cried. I wanted a bag that fit my gear and also under the seat so I’d never face that problem again. Here’s hoping!

I've taken this bag on many trip and it is incredible. It packs loads of space, but still fits into all overhead bins. The front pouch holds a laptop very safely and the extra front pocket has loads of great compartments for smaller items. It can hold a DJI Mavic with 3 batteries and charger, A6300 with 4 lenses, a Crane V2 gimbal, Syrp Genie Time Lapse Rig, Manfrotto Tripod, loads of extra batteries, a Macbook Pro, iPad, Cards, lens cleaners and the list goes on. A high quality, well thought out bag, that you won't be disappointed with.

As others have demonstrated, this bag can carry a lot and is an excellent travel backpack. I won't repeat any "me too" comments others have already shared in which I agree. What I will share is a specific carry on experience. If you need to shove this under the seat in front of you on a plane, it will NOT fit in first class on a Delta 737-800 aircraft. However, it had no problems fitting under the seat in first class on a Delta Airbus A320 and A321, and CRJ900. So be aware there may be under seat limitations on your flight.

A well designed and quality product. I am a sports shooter and this bag works great for me. My two bodies fit easily in the bag with lenses on ... It is comfortable on my back. The features work ... very happy with this back pack.

Great travel backpack. You can pack a lot of equipment while teaming compact. It's my travel bag of choice. The only other bag I considered was the Mindshift 26L. The main difference for my use (travel) was the way each of them open and that the 26L maybe more comfortable for long hikes.

Despite the dimensions and the description, this bag did not fit under any airplane seat and didn't fit into 75% of the overhead compartments on my flights to and from Scotland (including an Airbus and regional jets). The built-in locking cable is neat but not nearly as useful as I thought it would be on the road. It was very spacious for both FF DSLRs and lenses as well as other electronics and travel devices. It was just too big and too boxy to safely fit in most places. Plus, putting the laptop/iPad pocket on the front makes it even trickier to protect that equipment when trying to put it under a seat or in an overhead compartment. I returned this bag for the ThinkTank Urban Approach 15 which can hold two FF DSLRs (ungripped), a host of lenses, and my 15" MBP and 9.7" iPad Pro without blinking. It's narrow and has a lower profile, so it will fit where the Airport Commuter couldn't dream of fitting.
