External DVD drive

Great product for a portable DVD drive. My Dell computer wouldn't let the included software download for security reasons, but I downloaded it from the internet. This drive will record a DVD also. Great product for my laptop that doesn't have an internal DVD drive.

Good except win11 admin wouldn't let me load the driver disk! Had to use command line massaging to override! Unacceptable, really. Hardware is good.

Frustrating Install

Was disappointed by the fact that as delivered and with installed software it wouldn't play CDs! Then, had to deal with the fact that it was third party software, Windows as delivered wouldn't allow installation, so had to figure out how to enable the administrator account and set the password. One that was completed, s/w installed fine and music now plays. Haven't yet tried writing CD/DVD.

Hello there! I purchased this CD drive to watch movies, listen to music, and install software onto my Dell laptop. I am very glad I did as it not only excedes my expectation for performance but looks very nice and is very compact for on the go use! I was even able to load up a few old games I haven't played in years because my laptop came without a drive and I kind of did not think to get an external one until just recently. Thanks again Dell!

I've had mine for 3 months now. It works well with my Inspiron 17 7000 Series 1778 laptop. I takes up little space in my laptop backpack and is very handy. So far I've had no problems reading or burning DVD discs. It is very basic in nature but it works very well so far. If you want a very portable DVD +/- R/W drive this is a good choice for the price.
