Never buy Epson again! Worked fine at first

Initially it was a gem. Four months later, it began "eating" my paper any time I would use eco friendly paper from Walmart. A month after that, it began randomly cancelling print jobs after printing the first page. No matter what we did, we could not fix it. Epson website was no help at all. What a waste of $600!!!!

So far great

I've been using Epson printers for well over 25 years and for the most part they always proven be to great printers. My go to photo printer is my Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000 that I had for the last 5 years and under moderate use it still works perfectly. The photos out of the ET-8500 are just a tad less in quality then my HD XP-15000 but barely noticeable with both on the highest quality print settings. Set up was a breeze, had my printer unboxed and up and running on my network in a little over 30 minutes, not bad at all. This is my first Eco Tank print and I like that I have to always change the ink cartridges. The build quality on the ET-8500 is very good, unlike some Epson printers that I owned in the past that had very cheap flimsy plastic. I love this printer so far and can highly recommended to anyone that wants beautiful photos.

Epson does not honor their warranty if you buy from Amazon

This is the third one of these printers I have purchased. The printer itself is of good quality until it breaks down. Then after of hours on the phone with epson support because the printer would not feed photo paper properly and I was told the printer is still with the warranty period. They pulled the plug on me and refused to honor the warranty because i bought the printer from Amazon.

Great printer! and scanner. The liquid ink is a bit strange to handle after the cartridges. short time, you wont even notice it any more. A plastic bag is provided to carry the printer to avoid spilling the ink? Set up is very easy, almost done by itself. You need to install some drivers, its fast. The colour quality is amazing, even on plain paper. A fast, quiet photo-printer. No auto paper feed. Paper tray seems week, so far so good. A bit expensive to start with.

Terrible!

Terrible!!!! Bought this printer to start my small printing business and decided to spend extra money to get this one! I set up everything correctly and adjust all the printing options before hit the print. Unfortunately, I have waited1 hour to print single page!!!! How is it even possible!!! What if I needed to print 100 pages even more for my business! I send print even Standart quality not high!!! Should I exchange it or return!!! Why it took forever to print!!!!!

Love This Printer!

I've had this printer for a year now and absolutely love it! No more cassette ink cartridges!!! I have always bought Epson printers, ever since I started using computers/printers in the 90's, because I love how the Epson printers print photos! And, I always buy genuine Epson inks, too. Highly recommend this printer!

Good but could be better.

Purchased this to print some of my wife's artwork. So far so good, setup was very easy on all of our devices (PC and Mac). Output quality is very nice and most of the paper feed options work great. Biggest complaint is the rear feed option for heavy card stock. Though the feed handles heavy paper well it takes some re configuring to use and is tricky getting the paper to feed in straight.

I think I made the worst decision in purchasing the ET 8500

After researching ecotanks and trying to decide if they were worth the money I finally broke down and purchased the ET 8500 the end of August 2024. I finally unpacked it mid September and it copied and printed a couple of pictures great. Then I needed to do another copy a few weeks later and the previous picture kept coming up on my copy. I figured it was something I was doing wrong so I read up on what I was doing wrong. I couldn't find anything so finally I contacted technical support and they tried to help me. They couldn't help me over email so said I needed to call. I didn't have time right away so it was probably around October 17th or so and they decided I had a hardware issue and they would have to replace the printer. Ok thats fine. I figured they would give me a brand new one in the box like I had since I basically just purchased mine. No I got a refurbished one that smells musty when you open the top and now I cannot get anything wirelesss to connect to the printer and computer. I am so mad. They told me because it was past one month old I couldn't get a new one. That to me was ridiculous. Its not something you use everyday. I paid a lot of money for this printer and I felt I should have been given a brand new one just like they got from me. That to me was really poor customer service. Now I have to spend my time again trying to get help to get my wireless to work. I am so frustrated with Epson and I have always loved their printers. Shouldn't have spent the money I guess. Big companies don't care about the little guys.

Pros and Cons

I've been using this printer for nearly two years. **Pros:** The print quality is excellent, and I appreciate the eco-friendly ink. **Cons:** Paper jams are a recurring issue, especially with thicker materials like envelopes, cardstock, and premium photo paper. Additionally, prints often have ink smudges and smears along the edges. Epson should address these problems to improve the overall user experience.

Horrible product and customer service

Horrible product and Horrible company that doesn't follow regulatory compliance. They also do not follow the policies on their website. I will not advise anyone to purchase anything from Epson!

Will help elevate your cannabis brand

Does a wicked good job printing my cannabis labels. Print quality is excellent, the black specifically is impressive compared to my previous printer, very dark and vivid.

Buyer Beware

I have had this printer for 1.5 years. Worked great until i had ONE paper jam a month ago. Last week it went into paper jam error. Took it to a licensed repair shop because of the original price. They called and said it was a FATAL error. NOT FIXABLE.

Awful experience

I purchased the ET-8500 just to print a picture on a CD disk. I struggled with it for several days and I spoke to at least four different Epson employees in the Philippines over a two day period. We could never get the ET-8500 to print; it would only copy. I spent over $700 including tax to buy this printer. What a great disappointment. Epson's "service" is terrible. All your requests for service are automatically routed overseas, usually to the Philippines and it is difficult, if not impossible, to understand what some of the people in the Philippines are saying because of their compromised English. After a very frustrating and very disappointing experience I returned the printer to Best Buy, a store which offered no help either. My overall rating would be zero if it were available. I'm done with Epson.

Printer died with only 25% of it's inital ink used !

After using it about 5 times a month ink levels at 60% Black 95% other colors ! Had to clean the head every second time i used it Now Ive cleaned the head 16 times straight and still can't get a faint shadow ! I have to give up on Epson ! I can't believe that I got SCAMMED so bad ! The product is supposed to stop ink problems and it actually makes that problem worse than any other printer !

Great printer with tweaking and experimenting

I bought this printer to make quantity fliers for art shows and other art-related events at low ink costs. The larger model wasn't on sale at the time. The price difference was too extreme to consider the larger model, so I still make larger posters on my insanely-expensive-to-operate 24" Epson fine-art printer (which is going to make me into a homeless person the ink is so expensive for a struggling older retired photo artist living on social security donating services to non-profit organizations). However, the 24" Epson printer prints fantastic photos for my art shows in museums and galleries. The ET-8500 is fun and makes nice-looking color and black-and-white prints if you use high-quality settings and don't expect perfect color matching. The paper feeds are very finicky, too finicky, and you have to experiment to see what papers will work with which feed. If it doesn't work, and the thickness is not a factor, it will never work, and you will spend a huge amount of time screaming profanities because you're at a deadline and the paper is so hard to weave out from under all those gears. So, if you're willing to experiment a bit and get the combinations right, this is a fantastic printer that is fun, makes great bleed or bordered prints, and has rich and beautiful colors that are not perfect but are not unnatural or unpleasant and is fun to use once you get the hang of it. I've printed several hundred graphic-rich flier-type pages for art events and a few other things (they look much more impressive than Xerox fliers), and the machine still works for me, and there is still ink. My big Epson printer uses pigmented ink to make the prints last longer, but I noticed one of the black inks in this printer is also pigmented. Maybe that mixes with the colors for better fade resistance? I think this is a pioneering machine that will get better and better with each generation. It has quirks and takes getting used to, but I highly recommend it!

Best printer ever!!!

best printer ever! Great photos using Epson photo paper. Ink lasts along time, almost two years printing over two 200 4x6 photos of grand daughter and multi prints for church and copies for personal records. Every printer I ever owned when photos got wet they ran and smeared. Not with this printer and ink. We put photo in glass of water and let it dry and it was like brand new with no runs or smears.

Works great and worth buying!

This is a great printer but should be easier to install for use. I'm using a fairly capable MSI Dragon laptop and it doesn't have a CD drive and this came with a disc, this should definitely come with a flash drive as new computers don't even use discs anymore. I had to find it online and download it and still it's not working wirelessly. Just a bit frustrating but it prints great, is easy to operate, easy to fill and works very well with sublimation paper and ink. I've already printed hundreds of pages and only needed to clean the heads after 200+ pages. Solid product but a bit of an update required on the software side. Worth buying!

Great photos

When you use the Epson photo paper, the printed photos really are "lab quality." I like the ability to send photos from my phone directly to the printer, using the Epson app. Only thing that I wish this would do is automatic duplexing when scanning/copying. It does do automatic duplexing (double sided) printing though.

Happy costumer

Very happy with my new printer. It showed very good reviews followed by a very user friendly Epson website for the purchase. I received the printer very fast in perfect condition and the set up was extremely easy. The print quality is very good. I highly recommend.

Great printer for my needs

So far the setup was easy. I have printed out photos and printed on a cd with my own software with no problems. the photo quality is very good. I have also printed greeting cards with no problems. At this early stage of using this printer I am very satisfied. The addition of a gray ink has improved quality from another epson older epson eco tank i was using.

Et 8500 continual connection problems

Printing is terrible. iPad or lap top shows connection to printer and printer shows strong wifi signal but quite often says "cannot connect to printer". iPad or lap top can be sitting right beside printer. VERY FRUSTRATING. Had many other Epson printers over the years and never had this problem. Wish I had not bought it!!

Printer is okay, but have to keep re-installing driver.

Prints well when working. But every morning I have to re-install the driver because of a "filter " error.
