A sturdy tripod is worth it!

My family thinks I take TOO MANY PICTURES, but hey, everyone has to have a hobby! I have had (both purchased and given as gifts) too many weak, flimsy tripods in the past, so I finally sprang for a good one. I almost bought a carbon fiber model, but I don't backpack that much, so I am not as critical about the weight. If it were lighter for the same price, it would have gotten 5 stars.

A great stable tripod.

This is a great tripod for the money. Yes it is alittle heavy, but that is part of what helps make it so stable. It also has some great flexibility features to take pictures in different positions.

Great For Macro Work

This an excellent tripod. This is great for macro work. You can get up close and personal with nature photography!! This is not a light weight piece of equipment. Not fun to take on long hikes.

Great Product

Great product, I use it with my D200 to take long term exposures. I use it with 2.8F lenses and it can handle the weight with ease.

I would buy this product again

I really like the fast setup. I do wedding work, and depend on it day after day. After using it awhile, I added lines on each lower leg for the most common setups I do. This is simply done with a china marker, so it is permanent. Now all I have to do for a setup is extend each leg to the line I need for the height setup & lock the leg in place.

Excellent build quality.

The grip and shift handle takes a little getting used to. It feels very solidly built. A quality piece of kit.

Designed for the professional photographer, this is an extremely versatile tripod, ideal for small, medium format cameras, digital or conventional type.

The tripod has an easily removed center column that just as easily re-fits as a horizontal lateral arm. Not only does this allow the camera to be offset from leg position, it provides the simplest way possible to shoot from directly overhead.
