This was purchased primarily to live-stream a church service as well as occasional use for pre-recording portions of the service. The sanctuary it's used in is rather dimly lit. Despite that, the video from this camera is bright and sharp and the colors are vibrant. In contrast, a Sony Handycam that we'd used previously was muted and a bit fuzzy. It's been a huge improvement.

This camera is terrific. Beautiful clear images and great at keeping movement in focus. It is the perfect weight for steady handheld camera work because it is not too light and not too heavy. Controls in two places depending on your style of holding the camera. Place for back up memory card in case the primary card fails. Complex control with simple design. It has a great feel to it when shooting. (The battery it comes with is not long lasting, so one needs to get additional batteries for location filming). Overall, I would highly recommend this camera.

Great camera - picked it up a day or so ago - but I've used the AX100 from Sony - and this one - the MC88 has similar tech - specially the 1" sensor (MC88 does not shoot 4K however). I did some tests with the MC88 already - image, ease of use are great (there are many Sony NX80 tutorials out on web - another camcorder that is very similar to the MC88). I make fiction features typically - and I still love to shoot them on camcorders. With color grading and other post work camcorders such as the MC88 can be used to make any type of program - docs, news, or fiction features or shorts. Highly recommended - great price for this type of a camcorder. I attached an unboxing video that I made with the MC88. In a week or so will add a video featuring video from the MC88.

bought two weeks ago from Adorama. Use in my automotive videos and this camcorder works perfect for me. Posted unboxing video on youtube and more to come. Footage is on Autoresource and ToyotaMaintenance youtube channels. This camcorder is perfect for user who doesn't need 4K and is filming Run and Gun style in full auto. Improved auto focus is incredible, touchscreen LCD is excellent, joystick speeds up going from the menu, and many assigned buttons help to avoid menu. I am extremely happy with this purchase so far. I worked in past with many DSLR and camcorders, this one is perfect for my use. I will say has pretty good dynamic range, picture is pretty crisp even in 24p. I will do more tests with it and post it all on youtube. Check it out, Peter J. I wish it came with that small remote control, so you don't need to walk there and back from camera. Oh well , nothing is perfect !
