This is a great concept. It works well on the strap on my everyday Sling. Allows for quick access to the camera. I do feel the price for this is high considering what it is, but the quality is very good.

The Capture Clip is am amazing tool for people that bring heavy cameras into the backcountry-- it makes carrying my bulky Canon R6 MUCH more comfortable. I especially love using it for hikes where I have to do some scrambling and I want to protect my camera from swinging into rocks. There are a few things that can be improved. My capture clip tends to "stick," which sometimes makes removing my camera hard. This could be improved. I've been hesitant to spray it with lubricant, since that will transfer to my gear and clothing. More importantly, I find that the capture clip needs bigger screws to accommodate thicker backpack straps. Many of my packs are too padded to fit the clip comfortably, and as a woman I also have to work around my chest.

I bought this item recently and I can't express more on how I should've gotten this sooner!! It's an absolute game changer for travel and street photography with easy access and not needing to worry about straps

I borrowed a friend's capture for a trip recently and immediately ordered one of my own when I returned. Loved having a secure way to carry my rig while trekking around with the family and you quite quickly get used to unclipping, snapping a shot, and clipping it back. Keeps the weight off my neck and my hands free!

This clip is awesome! It's easy to adjust to my strap sizes and I know my camera isn't going anywhere! I hike often and like to take my Fujifilm xt-30ii with me on my trails and I have no worries even hiking the hardest trails.

This thing is so beautifully made. Really solid. It oozes quality. And so handy. Put it on a belt or a rucksack strap. Takes a bit of practice pressing the button and releasing the camera but you're there...wow great.

The camera sits securely. That's the most important thing to me. I think it's great that the adapter and the construction protect the camera from wear and tear. The design prevents anything from coming loose, as screws and connections can't completely come loose while wearing the clip. Thank you!

Exactly what I needed for when I am walking around and want to have both hands free but keep my camera near. Impressive quality!

There is a saying "hold my beer and watch this." Capture is that friend who holds it for you.

I bought this about 6 months ago to bring my camera backpacking and absolutely loved it. Attached to my pack's shoulder strap and the clip performed well over 35 miles of rigorous hiking. Even with a larger lens, it was stable the entire time and so smooth to unclip which was very important to me when I'd have <5 seconds to get a shot off when encountering wildlife. This is easily one of the best purchases I've made in years!

Solid product. Easy to connect to most backpack straps and you get a couple different screw options depending on thickness of your bag strap. My bags strap is very thick and wide and it still fit around it. On con is there is some awkward pressure if the camera is really heavy. I have a Canon A-1 with a zoom lens so the weight isn't ideal.

I own this accessory since almost three years adter having other similar products of other brands that I've put away. This is the best product and it's the lightest and unobtrusive plate for the camera on the market. It's fully compatible with all the Arca Swiss fixtures around.

I use it for years with no complains. I usually attach it to my backpack's strap when I use two camera bodies in city trips or when I go for a forest hike and I need my teo hands. I've used it with various backapacks and camera bodies. From small Fujis to Leica SL, had no problem. Huge bodies could cause unballance. For example I tried with GFX 50S and it wasn't comfortable. I can imagine it's same with cameras with built in grip. With normal full frame and smaller bodies I can recommend it. The attachment/detachment process works well especially if you have fixed the capture a bit tilted towards your body. Ir helps you to pull out the camera easier. The build quality is super, it is very solid.

Good and best of all a new diferent product. All kind of products, already have a competiror. This one, looks like no one have anything similiar and with this kind of quality. If you go on the street and see someone with the camera attach to the backpack 99% of chance of that person have this producr.

This item had a screw that did not fit the base of my Nikon D500 body. I spent a great deal of time trying everything over 3 days hoping to find a solution I was sad as I bought you tripod a couple of years ago, which is terrific.

Very well built; it held up for many trips and under some tough conditions. Throughout, my kit was certainly secure. The only frustration is that the clip release plunger has a tendency to flip into the locked position, making reinserting the clip into the base challenging without two hands (with gloves on, this is a hassle). Just got another capture unit so happy to see if this one is less fussy.

Couldn't do without it: one clip on my trekking backpack (shoulder) and one on the strap of my small sling (waist height, with additional pad) + arca swiss for the tripod + anchor point for shoulder strap or cuff. Really big features for a small device like this.

An amazing product with great versatility. The build quality is amazing and the product feels like it. Great fun using it. Wish it could be a bit more wide to fit wider backback strips more easily but i'm sure that there's a good reason for the width.

Finally
By David C.
I was going to buy the previous Capture Clip a while back but noticed that what holds the plate on the clip is actually plastic that I believe can chip off therefore resulting in camera drop. Though I have never come across a review in that matter or personally know anyone who's expirenced a failure on their clip, it wasn't worth the risk. So happy Peak Design finally came out with a version 2 built all metal and made the purchase. Thank you, Peak Design.
All metal, all good!
By David C.
So I finally made the purchase to this awesomely new version of the clip. I refuse to buy the previous version due to the locking piece inside the clip that holds the plate in the clip is made up of plastic that can (in my opinion) chip off in time therefore resulting in camera drop. Though I never come across anyone who owns the previous version and experienced such a failure or seen any videos on the net about it but it wouldn't resolve my worries. Now it's all metal and it's all good!
Just unveiled, the latest Capture from Peak Design is the epitome of secure, convenient, and accessible camera carrying solutions. This innovative device transcends traditional camera straps by providing rigid stability for your camera, whether you're hiking rugged trails, biking through city streets, or navigating the studio.
Unlike typical camera bags, the Capture ensures your camera is always at your fingertips, ready to capture the moment with a simple click of a button. The system comprises two main components: a robust metal clip that attaches to any backpack strap, belt, or bag, and an Arca tripod-compatible plate that affixes to the base of your camera.
Your camera locks into the clip, providing a secure and rigid hold. The lockable quick-release button allows for swift removal when needed. With a holding capacity of over 200 lbs. (90kg), the Capture is robust enough to support even the heaviest professional camera and lens combinations.
The V3 updates bring a sleeker, lighter design with an all-metal build. The ultra-smooth machined/anodized finish enhances durability, while the ergonomic design ensures comfort during use.
With the Capture, your camera becomes an extension of you, always ready to document your adventures. It's time to take your camera out of the bag and start using it to its full potential. The Capture also accommodates binoculars, lenses, and GoPro cameras with additional plates/kits (sold separately).
The V3 version is 30% lighter, 20% narrower, and 20% lower in profile than its predecessor, the Capture V2. The all-metal build features an aluminum alloy chassis, backplate, quick-release button, and a stainless steel locking pin. The anodized finish enhances durability and smoothness, while the embedded grip in the backplate assures maximum slip resistance.
The Capture comes with two sets of bolts: thumb-drive bolts for easy clamping and unclamping, and hex-drive bolts for a more secure or permanent installation on thicker straps. Experience the future of camera carrying solutions with the new Capture from Peak Design.
